Adding hostages and rescue point!
So you want some tasks for your map?
Want to save the poor hostages which are taken by the evil terrorists?
Don't know how to add them?
Follow this tut, and you will be able to add hostages with rescue point.
Then it's just to read carefully, and you will get no errors.

Hostages:
1. Start by making a room. Doesn't have to be big for this little example.
2. Take your entity tool (Shift+E) and select the hostage_entity.
3. Put them around where you want them, rightclick and click Create Object. Don't make them touch the ground. Example: (Screenshot 2)
4. Now we added the hostages, so now it's over to the Rescue Point.

Rescue point:
1. Start off by selecting the Brush Tool (Shift+B) and find your AAATRIGGER texture. (Screenshot 3)
2. Brush where you want your rescue point, rightclick and click Create Object. Make it from the ground, because you all know that hostages aren't really smart. (Screenshot 4)
3. Rightclick the AAATRIGGER, press CTRL+T or rightclick > Tie to Entity. Tie it to func_hostage_rescue.
4. Add some decals around it and you are pretty much done. :)
5. You can see the result at Screenshot 1 and Screenshot 6

Hint: Make an easy way for the hostages to walk. They aren't the smartest creatures on CS1.6.
You can add more hostages and rescue point if you want that.
Just add more rescue points and hostage entitys.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks,
Izzane. |
