This tutorial is made for better fps in css!

1.Set Launch options commands

Right click cs source in steam->Properties->Set launch options

-console // Enables console
-w 800 // Sets the resolution. Width. I think 800*600 is the perfect balance between fps and graphics.
-h 600 // Sets the resolution. Height.
-nosync // No vertical sync. (Caps at refresh rate if on)
-nojoy // Disabels Joystick support
-noipx // Disabels servers with IPX protocol
-heapsize // How much ram that CSS will use.(Half of the ram) 128 mb ram - 65536, 256 mb ram - 131072, 512 mb ram - 262144, 1 gb ram - 524288, 2 gb ram - 1048576
-d3d // For ATi cards
-gl // For nVIDIA cards
-freq 75 // Frequency (same as monitors refresh rate)
-tickrate 100 // Special for 100 tick servers
-refresh 75 // Same as -freq just to be sure.
-high // Gives css high priority


2. Make sure you often do a clean up. With windows default one and with CCLEANER you can also clean your registry with this free tool. I recommend you both do a clean up and clean the registry with this tool! I also use one program called Glary utilities, (very good program) I recommend it! Also a free good tool! Glary utillities

3. Also make sure you defrag your hardrive regulary for the best performance. Windows default one works good but I use DIRM-S a free defrag program! I recommend it!

You can also Defrag cs source cache files by going to Right click cs source in steam>properties>local files>Defragment cache files!


4. You can also use my FPSCFG created by myself!

Nice tutorial, love the colours... they make it nicer to read.

Also thanks for including the Glary Utilities program in your tutorial, I've downloaded and installed it. Its amazing !

Cool i might try this out.. but my fps is good enough now at an avg of 120 i will have to think about it
