Getting music on games Difficulty: Beginner |
| Category: CS:S > Installation | Author(s): The Loveless One |

(Download these programs: dBpowerAMP, HLDJ)
Have you ever wondered how people played music over the microphone with quality? Well, I'll tell you how.
*** Before anyone says SHIT about how HLSS is better, screw off and shut up. HLSS IMHO is stupid, because you need to have files containing the .wavs. HLDJ just finds the .wavs that are in a folder and uses them. ***
*** I reccomend installing HLDJ and DBPA to your desktop, for quick and easy access ***
*** You need to have MP3s, not any other filetype. Just to let you know. ***
Once you have everything installed, find your .mp3s on your computer. Remember where these are.
Open up the folder named dbpamp and find Music Converter. Once you open it, a window will come up showing folders, files and such. Find your .mp3s you want to convert, and click open. Some options will come up, but put these in:
Filetype: Wave
Bit (left): 16
Frequency (middle): 11025
Right: 1 'Mono'
Click convert and wait. You're almost done!
Take your .wavs and place them in the place you wanted HLDJ to get them (Default: HLDJ\Audio). Open up HLDJ and set up the things in there (Game path, play audio key). Your game path should be something like these:
- C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\stamapps\(username/email)\counter-strike source\cstrike
- C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\(username/email)\counter-strike source\cstrike
- C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(username/email)\counter-strike source\cstrike
- C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\(username/email)\counter-strike source\cstrike
For the audio key, I suggest UPARROW, since it's out of the way.
Click Exit, Yes, and you're done with all of iT! (NOT!!!)
Now, if you go into HLDJ and click the green triangle, if you've done it right, CSS will open up. To see what you have to play, open up the Console and type la or listaudio. Some stuff will show up, but look for the song titles. Some numbers will be next to them. Type in that number in console (i.e, 3. O ZONE- Numa Numa, so you type 3). Go in-game and hit the play button! 0MGZ0RZ IT WORKED!!! |
