- (Mirror 2) Files-Upload

Installation

  1. Create backup files (optional, but recommended -_-)

  2. Before you start the installation of zbot, I would recommend you to create a backup for "liblist.gam"
or for you entire counter-strike folder. You never know ;)
Also remove other bots that you might have installed before.

  3. Unzip & Install

  4. It doesn't really matter where you extract the files to,
just make sure you extract all the items inside the .zip file.

Go to your cstrike folder (/SteamApps/mail@mail.com/counter-strike/cstrike/)
and put following files inside this folder:

    • BotCampaignProfile.db

    • BotChatter.db

    • BotProfile.db

    • commandmenu.txt

    • zbot_command.txt

    • liblist.gam

You might be asked to replace some files, but that normally doesn't happen. If it does, "replace all files".
But it's best, as I said before, to create a backup. Especially for the file called "liblist.gam".

Then go to your "dlls" folder (/SteamApps/mail@mail.com/counter-strike/cstrike/dlls) and put the file
    inside this folder:

    • zbotcz.dll

Go to your "sprites" folder (/SteamApps/mail@mail.com/counter-strike/cstrike/sprites) and put the file
    inside this folder:

    • shadow_circle.spr

And then last but not least, the sound goes into your sound folder.
    (/SteamApps/mail@mail.com/counter-strike/cstrike/sound)

Ingame

Start up Counter-Strike and create a New Game. Now, the cool thing about zbot is that it creates its own waypoints.
You can choose whatever map you like without having to create the waypoints yourself. Zbot analyzes the map and
restarts when finished. This process takes about 30 seconds up to 5 minutes in total, depending on how large your map is.
Remember that zbot only starts analyzing after you have added a bot.

How do I add a bot?

The zbot command menu is bound to "H" by default. So when you press "H" a window should pop up, allowing you to add, kick, ...
and change the skill level of the bots.

If you want to use another key for summoning the command menu, simply open up console and type unbind "H" and
bind "key" "+commandmenu"

You can also do it the hard way by, for example, typing following lines in console:

  • bot_add_t

  • bot_add_ct

  • bot_difficulty [0-3]

  • bot_kill [name, "all"]

  • bot_kick [name, "all"]

  • bot_knives_only

  • bot_pistols_only

  • bot_snipers_only

  • bot_all_weapons

For more commands, open the "zbot_command.txt" file and... read it lol.

Uninstall zbot

If you made a backup of your "liblist.gam" file, just move it back to your cstrike folder
(/SteamApps/mail@mail.com/counter-strike/cstrike/) and replace it with the current one.
If you didn't make a backup, open "liblist.gam" with notepad and

REPLACE THIS LINE

gamedll "dlls\zbotcz.dll"

WITH

gamedll "dlls\mp.dll"

Save it, remove all the other zbot files mentioned above (installation), AND YOU'RE DONE!

Pros: .
Cons: Illegal port of CZ bots
Improvements: .
Notes: .

I heard about Zbot being illegal, but I read that Whistler (yapb bot developer) found a legal way to enable these bots in CS1.6. He is not patching the binaries (which would be illegal), but he is patching the memory to lie the original - not touched - mp.dll. Well - Valve probably doesn't like it, but there is no paragraph against that. So yeah...

Pros: Awesome. Very nice
Cons: None
Improvements: None I can see
Notes: I have been searching everywhere for a good bot for cs 1.6. I have been searching online, hoping to play with bots - not to improve skill - but to improve aim. I haven't been able to play in a while so my aim is for shit :X. I want to play against bots so I don't get pwned by real people saying how I suck but in all truth it has to do with my aim.
