How to make sprays Transparent
Difficulty: Beginner
Category: CS:S > SpraysAuthor(s): chrisbitm

I am going to tell you how to make sprays transparent.

These are things to understand before you criticize on this tut (Assuming if you ever leave me good criticism). This is my method and/or how I go about to make my own sprays transparent. I know there are other tutorials on here - as well as anywhere else - that tells you how to make sprays transparent. And, I also know that the method that I use is without a doubt used by somebody else. Apology for that stern monologue, but this is my method and the easiest and the fastest way that I know how, to preserver the sprays' transparency. So, if you have an easier way on how to make a spray transparent, don't comment on it here.

With that out of the way, I am going to tell you how to make a spray transparent in five steps. Yes, you heard me right. Five steps is all that which it takes on to make a spray in which that is - transparent. A thing to remember is that this tutorial is structured as a How-To-Screen-Shot. I, will type on how to make a spray transparent, followed by a how-to via screen shot.
Example: Step A is Screen Shot A

Please Note: It is imperative that you do exactly as I say, and it is also imperative that you follow exactly as I declare on the screen shot. I am assuming that you know what the word, simultaneously, means.

Now let us begin

Step A: Create a New Document.

Step B: Make your spray.

Step C: Create a New Layer. Press these keys on the keyboard simultaneously-
ctrl alt shift e. This will "Stamp Visible" everything on separate layers into one single layer.

Step D: Open, Layers>Load Selection. Hit OK. This will create dots all around the objects inside the image.

Step E: Look at the blue circle in the corner of the screen shot. Notice the blue circle? This is what is known as the channels palette. Inside the red circle is, "Create New Channel". Click that to make a new channel called, Alpha One. This will cause your image to be completely black, with dots that form your image. The black fill will be the transparent areas

Step F: Press these keys on the keyboard, alt backspace. This will fill white around the image that you do not want transparent.

Now go back to the layers pallet and click on the picture besides the words, Layer 1. Press the keys on the keyboard, ctrl d. Save the file as .tga and make sure Alpha Chanels is selected and 32-bit.

feedback is appreciated.

P/M me for any trouble that you may endure
