How to add Skins to CS 1.6 Difficulty: Beginner |
| Category: CS > Installation | Author(s): hot_racer |

1. Extract the file with winzip or a similar program to the desktop.

2.Look through the files. If they end in .mdl then put them in:
C:/Program Files/Valve/Steam/Steamapps/'ACCOUNT NAME'/
counter-strike/cstrike/models
(If it is a player model, make a folder called 'player' in the model folder, and then in there make a folder called gign, sas, gsg9, arctic, terror, leet or guerilla depending on what type of player it is.)

3.Now look for sound files. Normally .wav files. Put all of those in:
C:/Program Files/Valve/Steam/Steamapps/'ACCOUNT NAME'/
counter-strike/cstrike/sound/weapons
(You might have to make the sound and weapons folders the first time you download a skin.)
SCREENSHOT D
4.Launch the game. If you can't see the skin, then look back in the model folder and check to make sure ALL of the right files go in. If you can't see what went wrong, download the skin again and start at step 1 again.
NOTE: With some skins, you are given multiple options for the skin such as with scope or without scope. If so, only put one set of files in the models folder or you won't get the gun you want. The same is true for sounds.
IF NONE OF THIS WORKS FOR YOU, AND YOU SIMPLY CAN'T GET THE SKIN WORKING, PM ME WITH A LINK TO THE SKIN AND I'LL CHECK IT OUT.
