How to change start up sound for CS1.6 Difficulty: Beginner |
| Category: CS > Sounds | Author(s): Dystopia, A.K.A Anubis |

You can change the music for the start up in 1.6, and its very simple, something I figured out while messing with my cstrike folder.
You might know this you might not, Ive never looked this up..
Okay 1st you open your cstrike folder, click media, you should be here now..
E:\Steam Files\steamapps\*******\counter-strike\cstrike\media
You will see a file called "gamestartup" its a music file.
Now get your music file that you want to hear in the startup of CS make sure its MPEG Layer 3 Audio (I'm not sure if other will work, Ive never try feel free to experiment" and change its name to "gamestartup" (without the quotes). And I dont think the duration of the song matters, My song is like 5mins and the original is like 34 seconds are so...
Now always keep a back up of the original Music file, leave it on your desktop don't throw it away.
Replace the music file with song you want..
Your done!
Open CS and listen to your music =)
