How to change the weapon/headshot pictures
Difficulty: Intermediate
Category: CS:S > Sprites & GUIsAuthor(s): speedkill33, Garethiop1

Hello everyone, this is my first tutorial so it probably won't be great, so bare with me.

Now what we are going to do is change the head shot picture from when you kill someone to a different picture you have and want the head shot picture to be.

Tools Needed
Adobe Photoshop this is the tool that i will be using for the picture, you can use any other program that you can make pictures from also.
Font Creator to change the picture into the picture that you have.
__________________________________________________________________________

Step One:

O.K in this first step what you need is your picture(any picture you want as your head shot icon) that you will use. What you need to do is open Font Creator, click file> open> font file. Go to your Valve>Steam>Steam-Apps>Your Account Name>Counter-Strike Source>C-strike>Resource folder and open the CSD. (Screen shot A)

(MAKE A BACKUP FILE OF THE CSD!!)

Step Two:

Now find the picture that you want to change and double click on it, then a little screen should pop-up (Screen shot B) (like in this screen shot, also i am already using my picture that i want, so i wont be changing it, i will only be showing how you do it).

Step Three:

Now we will change the picture, right click on the little box that opened up with the picture on it, then select Import Image(Screen shot C) then another little screen should pop-up, select "Load..." then find the picture you want to use, and double click it, then find a nice threshold that matches your liking, i just used the original one, and then click "Generate".

Step Four:

Last Step, now what you want to do is delete the old picture and move/resize your picture to you liking, then save over the CSD that you loaded, make sure you still have your backup CSD, and go to your Valve>Steam>Steam Apps>Your Account Name>Counter-Strike Source>C-strike>Resource folder, right click on your new CSD file and tick the "Read Only" box then click Apply>O.K.

Now go and see your new picture, and have fun!.

I'd like to thank Garethiop1 for the help of this also.

Im trying to change the headshot icon.

Is it a big picture?? Try making it so that it stays in the red lines of where the old head shot icon was and keep it about the same size.

Try to edit the picture in photo shop to a more suitable size or something, or try to get a better quality picture.
