How to install some CS GUIs and Sprites

First of all you need to locate your cstrike folder. It should be located here: C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Your@email/counter-strike/cstrike. It is in this folder and the folders within we shall put files.

How to install a Menu background

Un-zip the archive you have downloaded.
This can be done by right clicking on the downloaded archive (.zip file). If the file ends in .rar you might need winrar to un-zip it.

Inside the un-zipped folder there should be 12 files ending in .tga
(In some cases there might be more than 12 .tga files)

Now copy all the 12 .tga files which starts with "800"

Find your cstrike folder and open it. Inside there should be a folder named resource. If there isn't a folder named resource you must create it!

Open the resource folder. Inside this folder there should be a folder named background. Open it. If there isn't a folder named background you must create it!

Paste the 12 .tga files starting with "800" into the background folder.

You have now installed your new menu background. :)

NOTE: If there are more .tga files which doesn't start with "800" they should be put in the resource folder. Not in the background folder.

How to install a radar

Un-zip the archive you have downloaded.
This can be done by right clicking on the downloaded archive (.zip file). If the file ends in .rar you might need winrar to un-zip it.

Inside the un-zipped folder there should be file(s) ending in .spr
Those are sprites. The full names of the sprites can be: radar640.spr or\and radaropaque640.spr

Now copy the .spr file(s)

Find your cstrike folder and open it. Inside there should be a folder named sprites. If there isn't a folder named sprites you must create it!

Open the sprites folder and paste in the sprites (.spr files). If you are asked to replace any files click "Yes"

You have now installed your new radar :)

TIP:Swap between Solid and transparent radar by using cl_radartype 0 and cl_radartype 1
NOTE: If your solid or transparent radar doesn't work your hud.txt file is probably is corrupted. Download the original hud.txt here.

How to install a scope

Un-zip the archive you have downloaded.
This can be done by right clicking on the downloaded archive (.zip file). If the file ends in .rar you might need winrar to un-zip it.

Inside the un-zipped folder there should be a file ending in .spr. That is a sprite. The file name of this sprite is often (but not always) sniper_scope.spr
If the name isn't sniper_scope.spr there should also be a file named weapon_awp.txt.

Copy the sprite (.spr file), and the weapon_awp(.txt) if there is one.
(If there are files named scope_arc.tga, scope_arc_ne.tga, scope_arc_nw.tga and scope_arc_sw.tga you should copy them too.

Find your cstrike folder and open it. Inside there should be a folder named sprites. If there isn't a folder named sprites you must create it!

Open the sprites folder and paste in the sprite (.spr file) and weapon_awp.txt (and the .tga files if there where any). If you are asked to replace any files click "Yes"

You have now installed your new scope :)

How to install a HUD

Un-zip the archive you have downloaded.
This can be done by right clicking on the
downloaded archive (.zip file). If the file ends in .rar you might need winrar to un-zip it.

Inside the un-zipped folder there should be file(s) ending in .spr
Those are sprites. Since it is a HUD it can contain several sprites (.spr files)
640_hud7.spr for an example.

Now copy the all the .spr files (and hud.txt if it is there)

Find your cstrike folder and open it. Inside there should be a folder named sprites. If there isn't a folder named sprites you must create it!

Open the sprites folder and paste in the sprites (.spr files). If you are asked to replace any files click "Yes"

You have now installed your new HUD :)

How to install a Blood decal or\and bullet holes

Un-zip the archive you have downloaded.
This can be done by right clicking on the downloaded archive (.zip file). If the file ends in .rar you might need winrar to un-zip it.

Inside the un-zipped folder there should be a file named decals.wad

Now copy the decals.wad file

Find your cstrike folder and open it.

Paste the decals.wad in to the folder (cstrike). If you are asked to replace a file click "Yes"

You have now installed your new blood decal or\and bullet holes :)

They cannot be removed from CS. If they didn't show up on thescreenshot it is taken in CZ.
