| Category: CS:S > Sprites & GUIs | Author(s): delus1on77 |

OK. First tut but a simple 1!
What you need: valve game (css in this case)
Photoshop
.vtf plugin for photoshop (http://www.fpsbanana.com/tools/222)
up to 7 images you want for the background
(1024x1024 works best)
The steps!
1. Open C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\*****\counter-strike source\cstrike\materials. make a folder called console. [screenshot 1]
2. open up photoshop (and if not installed, install the vtf plugin b4 this step)
3. now open all of your images that you want to set as the background for the game (up to 7) make sure they are all the right sizes (prefectly square)
4. Now save each of them as background01.vtf, background02.vtf, background03.vtf etc into C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\******\counter-strike source\cstrike\materials\console
[ screenshot 2 for step 2 3 & 4]
if the console folder dosnt exist, make one
5. restart steam and give it a try. your backgrounds should change every time you start up the game.
hope this can help some people

EDIT:
you dont need the photoshop plugin if you have VTFedit. import the image and then save it as a vtf file and it worked for me that way, hint hint.
