Removing Aimpoints aka "the vmt trick" Difficulty: Beginner |
| Category: CS:S > Other/Misc | Author(s): Apocalyps3 |

This tutorial is dedicated to the minimalists. If you love your aimpoint Anpaq, LAM, or extraneous silencer this tut is not for you.
In this tut i will show you how to remove excess aimpoints, LAM's and all that good stuff. A word of caution, unless you want to run round gripping air; forward grips and grenade launchers cannot be removed by this method.
For the purposes of this tut i will use Darkelfa's skin Tactical Jackhammer. A masterwork in itself. But i'm more of a non-tactical guy so lets get rid of that aimpoint.
Step 1: The first thing you must do is open your "cstrike" then "materials" then "models" then "weapons" then "v-models" click on the skin you want (screen 2).
Step 2: Find the .vmt of the part you want to get rid of. Open it. If you have VTF Editor it will open in its own nice little window, but for your purposes you can choose to open it with notepad. (see screen 3)
Step 3: Before the first bracketed line of text insert the exact words "$no_draw" "1" make sure to include the quotation marks. (as in screen 4)
And there you go! Clean. Simply repeat on the world model .vmt and you are done!
