Making a Flying Remote-control Crate Difficulty: Beginner |

Introduction
This tutorial will tell you, step-by-step, how to build a fully remote-control flying crate. I feel that my version provides more stability during flight and is easier to control.
Construction
Start off by spawning the crate, using secondary fire of the Physics Gun (Phys-Gun), hold it a little off the ground (Screenshot B). Then use four hover balls, set, so that the "+" makes them go up and the "-" makes them go down. Also set them so that there is no air resitance and movement speed is set to 1 (Screenshot C). You can now equip the grav-gun and press "reload" or quickly grab the box with primary fire, meaning the box is now free and hovering via the hover-balls. Try not to nudge the crate at this time, otherwise you will need to stop it moving again.
Next, its time to add the thrusters, this is the part that needs to be done correctly, otherwise control is near impossible. Place one thruster on the back, so that push is set as "8" pull is set to "5" power is set to around 2500 and none of the boxes are ticked. I used the "lampshade" model, I suggest you do the same. Place it on one of the ends of the crate, this will now be the "back" (Screenshot D).
Now we need some steering. Again, using thrusters, make sure nothing is ticked and set the power between 500 and 750. Set "7" as the push and "9" as the pull, place this thruster on the right hand side of the crate when looking from the rear. Logic dictates that when you press "7" (what will become the left turn button) the thruseter will push the crate in that direction when looking from the rear. Then, on the diagonally opposite corner, place an identical thruster (Screenshot E).
Now we need to use the same thrusters, but change the buttons that control it the other way around, so, "9" is for push and "7" is for pull. Place these thrusters, of same power as the other turning thrusters, on the remaining two corners (Screenshot F).
Finally we need a camera for you to use when controlling the crate. You will need to use the "noclip" command in the console, fly to a point where you get a good view of the crate and the way it is facing. Then select "camera" and set it to "0" and tick the "toggle" box. Then press primary-fire to place the camera. Make sure "static" is unticked.

Finally, using the weld tool (not easy-weld), to weld the camera to the crate.

Thats it the crate is finally built, if you managed to get this far, press "0" on the num-pad and enjoy. Forward is "8", backward is "5", left is "7" and right is "9". Up and down is controled by the "+" and "-" keys on the num-pad.
Conclusion
The main point of GMod is to experiment, so try different values, controls etc. Try adding additional controls, making the crate extremly manouverable. If you havn't been able to follow this, simply donwload the prefab I made of the flying remote-control crate.
I have been Rokusho and happy flying!!!

Expanding the Flying Crate
Well, this is my prefered construction of a flying crate, it builds upon everything done previously. But on the rear, place another thruster, but make it have no "pull" button, around the same power as the thruster already there. This helps it to go faster, but also helps stabiltiy. Next, add a thruster on the right hand side of the crate, power 300, push "4", pull "6" and then one on the left hand side, same power, push "6", pull "4". This gives you added manourerabilty, which can be very helpful when trying to get through some tight spots, or simply want to show off your flying skills.
