Dedicated Server Tutorial (CS1.6) + Bunny Hop Mod Difficulty: Intermediate |
| Category: CS > Server Administration | Author(s): |

I've read alot of threads asking for help with dedicated servers, so here is a way to set up your very own dedicated server. (HLDS 1.6)
HLDS FOR 1.6
1. Make sure your firewall is off.
• SP2 (Service Pack 2) users go to your Control Panel - Windows Firewall and turn it off.
• If you have a router, then here's what you do. Start your server, and the IP on HLDS is the IP for your router.
To find out what your IP is, go to What Is My Ip.Com and find out what your server's true IP is, just addon the :27015 or :27016.
If you can't see your server in the list or your friends are not able to connect to your server then this could have many causes. One of them is that you're behind a firewall or a router.
If your server is behind a firewall and/or you are using a router, you can also use these ports!
UDP 1200 (Friends Network)
UDP 27000 to 27015 (Gameport)
UDP 27020
TCP 27030 to 27039
TCP: 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)
Go to the website of your manufacturer if you don't know how to open/forward these ports. Or if you have a router you can go to this website: www.portforward.com
Here you can find some other suggestions, where you may find an answer.
2. Go to your Steam/SteamApps/YOUR-EMAIL/dedicated server/cstrike
3. Some of these folders might be there.. but if not make them.
maps - Put any map you want in here. (BSP, RES and TXT only!)
dlls - Not recommended to touch.
gfx - Some maps have these.
logs - No need to put anything in there.
models - If the map or addon has any.
overviews - Only if map has them.
sound - This can be any wave sound, more information at the bottom.
sprites - If the map has any.
4. Now for your AdminMod or AMX Mod X. (I greatly recommend AMXX)
• Downlod AMXX
• Download AdminMod
5. Once you're done installing, you should have a folder called addons in your cstrike folder.
6. Find out what your SteamID is then go to addons/amxmodx/config/users.ini
7. Take a look at these Flags (Admin commands each person gets with AMXX)
; Access flags:
; a - immunity (can't be kicked/baned/slayed/slaped and affected by other commmands)
; b - reservation (can join on reserved slots)
; c - amx_kick command
; d - amx_ban and amx_unban commands
; e - amx_slay and amx_slap commands
; f - amx_map command
; g - amx_cvar command (not all cvars will be available)
; h - amx_cfg command
; i - amx_chat and other chat commands
; j - amx_vote and other vote commands
; k - access to sv_password cvar (by amx_cvar command)
; l - access to amx_rcon command and rcon_password cvar (by amx_cvar command)
; m - custom level A (for additional plugins)
; n - custom level B
; o - custom level C
; p - custom level D
; q - custom level E
; r - custom level F
; s - custom level G
; t - custom level H
; u - menu access
; z - user (no admin)
8. Go to the bottom of users.ini and add your SteamID and the flags.
Example:
If my SteamID is STEAM_0:0:12345 and I wanted full admin, I would do the following at the bottom of users.ini,
"STEAM_0:0:12345" "" "acdefghijklmnopqrstu" "ce"
9. That's it! Restart your server and you got admin powers! Congratulations!

Installing Bunny Hop
If you want to install Bunny Hop on your server, then here is how you do it,
1. Download AXN Mod here
• Newest version that I know of is 1.05
2. Create a new folder in your addons folder called axn
• Inside the axn folder, create a dlls Folder
3. Place axn_mm.dll or axn_mm_i386.so in the dlls folder
4. Now that we have put the axn file in the right place, let's open up the Meta Mod folder in the addons directory.
5. Open your Plugins(.cfg) and add the following lines to your file:
win32 addons/axn/dlls/axn_mm.dll
linux addons/axn/dlls/axn_mm.dll
6. Save and that's it, Bunny Hop is now installed on your server.
• Restart your server and enjoy.
7. Tips on using the AXN Mod,
• AXN Mod has many features in it, here they are:
[Quote>axn_showaddress 0
axn_tracer 0
axn_starthealth 100
axn_statustext 0
axn_noheadshot 0
axn_damageimpact 0
axn_longjump 0
axn_bunnyjump 1
axn_jumpability 1
axn_flashtime 1[/Quote>
8. Open up your server.cfg in the cstrike directory and add any of these if you.
• For Bunny Hop add: axn_bunnyjump -1 (This allows you to bunny hop like in 1.3)
9. All other plugins are there to be used, so go ahead and use it.
