The Easiest Way In The World To Add Custom Content Difficulty: Beginner |
| Category: CS > Installation | Author(s): |

Welcome back to another tutorial in "The Easiest Way In The World" Series. This time, I am going to teach you how to add custom models, sounds, sprites and other random shit to your CS Game. In this tutorial, we will need the following tools:
1) xertnevnI's Excellent Tool called FPSB Install Helper 1.2
2) As usual, a Unzipping software such as WinZip, EnZip, WinRAR or whatever crap you guys use these days.
Alright lets start. Firstly download the FPSB Install Helper from the link above or if you are lazy, Here. Than, simply follow these steps.
1) Unzip the file that you downloaded (duh!) and double click on the executable.
2) You should see something similar to Screenshot B. Select your username.
An important note: Since Steam introduced the new media player for steam, they added a folder called media and it will appear in the FPSB Install Helper as a username. Please do not click on that as it will not do any good unless you installed CS into your media folder (which is impossible LOL!)
3) After clearing the last step, you should see something similar to Screenshot C.
4) Now, simply click on the game that you would like to add content to and there would be categories for content that you can click on which would bring you to the folder where you want to put your stuff when you double click on the link to the respective folders. Look at Screenshot D for more information.
5) Once you got to the folders, simply dump whatever stuff that belongs in there and you are done!
Another Note: If you want to undo any changes that you made to CS/any other HL/HL2 based games, simply go to the folder and rename it. For example, rename "models" to "modelx". It can be anything as long as the name is not "models" or "sprites" or whatever it was originally supposed to be. Refer To Screenshot E for how I do it.
Known Bugs:
1)It creates a folder on your desktop called "Source Games Only- Not applicable or something similar.
2)Once you click on a game's radio button and you close the window that comes out. You can't click the button again unless you select another button first and close that window as well.
Thats all! Hope you find it simple. Kudoes to xertnevnI for allowing me to do up this tut to help all those noobs out there. |
