replacing server sounds (like HEADSHOT!) Difficulty: Intermediate |
| Category: CS > Sounds | Author(s): |

This tut is for people who are tired of the usual Headshot! or Humiliation sound. You can replace them with any other sounds that u like.
First, you must make sure the sound u will use to replace the old one is .wav format.
I'm not sure this has to be done, but I believe that the new sound file has to match the sound properties of the old sound file. I believe only the sample frame rate and the channels have to match.
The quake sounds (thats what they're called rite?) are usually 22 khz and 1 channel (mono). Note that 22khz is specifically 22050 hz.
I will do more experimenting on whether they have to match (I just found this technique out recently)
after that... lets say we want to change the sound file headshot
1. remove the sound from its folder (for headshot, its in cstrike\sound\misc)
2. put the replacing file in the folder, and rename it to the old file's name (ex. headshot)
*Note* when u are recording your voice for this, make sure you speak LOUDLY! or else, in the game, u can barely hear it.
That's it
If u find out anything else, comment and i will edit it into dis tut |
