Uc-avi plug-in for GIMP, allows you to load uncompressed .AVI files into multilayered images, for exporting to still image or animated gif.

The UC-AVI plug-in by Reinhard Geisler, loads common uncompressed AVI files into multilayer images for GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).

It saves multilayer images to uncompressed AVI. Audio is discarded, only one video stream is supported. Compressed AVIs may be loaded using mencoder to import.

INSTALLATION
Download, Unzip, and Copy "n" Paste the file 'uc-avi.exe' into your GIMP plug-ins directory.

C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\

That's it. You can now launch GIMP, and click File, Open, and now import uncompressed .AVI files.

Although, it also has some code for Mencoder, but even if that's usable, Mencoder can't decode XFR1. Thanks for helping out man. I personally use this plug-in for bringing in uncompressed .avi footage shot using HyperCam 2, and it works perfect for it. The key is uncompressed .avi files, but there is also a way to bring in compressed footage, but it requires a bit more work.
