This is a review of my favorite scotch and several others i have tried with some ratings out of 10. Hopefully this will help you choose wisely next time you visit your favorite liquor store!

First up, my absolute favorite, Bell's finest!

Info on Bell's finest
Bell's finest old Scotch Whisky by Arthur Bell & Sons.
Established in Perth, 1825.
Aged 8 Years.
40% alcohol volume.

Pour this stuff into a nice big glass and just add ice! Beautiful stuff!

I spent a few weeks trying many kinds of Scotch Whisky, and this came out on top, despite being in the cheaper range!

A few details on some of the other Scotches i tried along with my ratings:
-Bell's Finest Old Scotch Whisky (Aged 8 years, $32.00AU per bottle): 10 / 10
-Chivas Regal Premium Scotch Whisky (Aged 12 years, $50.00AU per bottle): 9 / 10
-Dimple Fine Old Original Deluxe Scotch Whisky (Aged 15 years, $60.00AU per bottle): 8.5 / 10
-Ballantine's Finest Scotch Whisky (Fully matured, $35.00AU per bottle): 8 / 10
-Johnny Walker Red Label Scotch Whisky (Absolute filth, $27.00AU per bottle): 0 / 10

The verdict
As you can see, i find Bell's Finest to be surprisingly good for it's very low price. After trying many nice Scotches, i found going back to Johnny Walker Red Label impossible. I literally had to pour it down the sink as it just tasted filthy and nothing like the finer Scotches.

Hope this guide helps any Scotch lovers out there choose wisely at the liquor store :D

This forum is called off topic. If a thread is well written it is not spam. If you are not interested in Scotch, don't flame. It is clearly aimed at Scotch lovers, NOT flaming n00bs.

Chivas and Ballantines are my favorites. I've only tried Bells a couple times but it was nice. Although I don't trust myself on those tastings because I was already well past inebriated.

Chivas was my favorite for a long time, but i was blown away by Bell's, mainly for the Taste-to-price ratio i suppose.

I prefer Scotch that's from America over Scotland or Ireland. I'm ashamed of myself. :(

Scotch is a fairly sweet kind of alcohol, goes down smoothly.

The taste is way less harsh than Rum, and at a similar strength to Bourbon, but sweeter.

Then again, that is subject to opinion, as i know people that drink Bundaberg Rum and Jim Beam like they drink water!

Mmm back on the Bell's Scotch at the moment!
