Hey guys, I'm having this huge problem. I have an 8800GT, every time I go to play a game and play it over 10 minutes my video card goes to 70-80C. I have plenty of fans, and here is my question: How can I stop this?

:D use my airduct trick I'd say clean out the computer of dust and rearrange the wires to maximize airflow.

Isn't that normal? You should worry if it reaches 90-100 or more.

Dusting out your computer should help, but you may also want to use rivatuner and create fan profiles to help with cooling it.

Is your 88GT a reference design, the single slot one? It might be gthering dust, as it was a common issue with reference cards. Or you could buy an aftermarket cooler, eg, duOrb. My 88GT's idle at around 30c and top out at 55c. They're Gainward ones, dual slot and non-ref.

Questions: 1. what is the ambient temp? 2. is there anything under your GPU? 3. do you have the latest drivers? 4. are you sure the GPU fan is working properly? Answers: try logging the temp of the GPU and fan speeds to see if the fan throttling is broken. if it is try new/old/beta drivers. i had a similar problem with my cpu, after exhaustive testing i found out that my heatsink was touching the ram which was simple to fix so check for something simple as it is often the case.
