Is there a free plug-in for Windows Media Player 11 that will playback DVD's? I inserted a dvd and it would not play; it says that I need a dvd decoder installed on my computer.

You need to have a Mpeg2 codec, which costs money. There are certain ways of acquiring these things that was cannot speak of here on the banana though. I use a program called Power DVD, most software like this comes with an Mpeg2 codec which can be then used with any program on your pc, such as WMP11, only reason I have it is came bundled with my old system which was prebuilt.

Sorry, duder, but that information is wrong. What he needs is a decrypter, namely libdvdcss2. Plus, very few MPEG-2 decoders cost money. Just install VLC. It's a much better media player and libdvdcss2 is bundled with it (I'm pretty sure, anyway).

Isn't Intervideo WinDVD count as a decrypter too? I can easily download that.
