Do you speek l33t in real life? Do you go around saying things like "lol" in real life?

Voting Poll You must login or register to access this! I am a victim of epic lulz when I'm around m regular friends. It started out with me and some of my friends constantly speaking "leet speak" at school in order to create "epic e-lulz" Unfortunantly(?) for me, this has become a (bad?) habit. Sometimes I say lol, and sometimes I say "kthxbai" instead of just "bye" Even one of the girls which was in my class last school year used to say "lol", and it's used just like it is on the net - about things that don't really make you laught at all. I personally think it's time for me to stop the "l33t speaking" and just go back to being less wierd. The question is: Do you ever use any of these internet acronyms when speaking to a person? By that I mean in real life, not "team speak" Also, how do you think the future "l33t speak" will be? Do you think your kids will go around saying words like "lol" and "kthxbai" in real life?

With my cousins, yeah. We sorta have our own words too. l33t speak related, though. But it's just all for the laughs, and good fun.

I do it on rare occasions with my cousin. Its a long story why but it's kinda an inside joke. I actually know a few girls who say "lol" and "rofl" sometimes too and they aren't nerds at all.

Q1 No I don't. It may happen once in a blue moon but thats about it. Q2 Also, if my kids ever "1337 speak" in person, I'm throwing them in the garbage and will try again. I've seen Arby n' the Chief and if it's anything like that then humanity as we know it, just may be over.

I say BRB and TTYL and G2G to mess with whoever I'm talking to or to make them laugh. I don't do it out of bad habit, though. I just say it because it's stupid and funny.

Tends to happen once in a while, I only use my 1337 skillz when appropriate... when flaming my friends and just normal skidaddling. That's about it.

Only with people who are familiar with it and can understand what it means. I taught a few friends l33t speak and use their imagination what it can mean, so it's all good. I don't use it much though.

No, not really. the school isn't big, it houses a total of around 70 pupils, and then there's no room for such "groups". In 10th grade we actually were just 11 pupils, and most of us got along, at least I did. :) And the thing with l33t speak, it's ofcourse just to make people laught (lol). But for me it's kind of getting old.

Eh, "lol" is not 1337, it's IM. I do not speak 1337 or IM in RL, because if I find something funny, that I would actually say "lol" then it's really not that funny to me, which makes me look stupid.
