Hi. Just saying hello and love the site. Iv been in and out but only got round to registering last night. The good people at GCBH Custom Server pointed me in your direction.
Many Many years ago while playing my ZX Specrtum i knew that one day i would make games or build maps for games. As yet i have not made any games but have been working on two maps for Day of Defeat Source. I started using Valve Hammer Editor about 18 months ago and im still learning. I am picking it up fast but map progress is slow. My first effort i had to bin as the more i learned the more i realised i had messed it up. ie Using Models skins as textures and not bothering to use the no draw texture lol. I had a bit of a problem with vertex buffer size. lol .It was all good as iv made all these mistakes i know the basics and some tricks. I studied graphic design at college. I also studied photography and Screen Printing so the design process is second nature. I have had some of my work used by the Scottish Executive for Advertising campaigns and i won several awards for my designs during my time at college. The College i went to was Glasgow College of Building and Printing and it Chnaged to The Metropolitan, Realy good place to studie. I would definetly recomend it ;) .
Well anyway thats me. If you have any questions just ask. BTW i need some Big Bushy tree models for one of my maps. The default ones in Hammer are good but not the look im going for. If someone could point me in the right direction i would be very gratefull ;)
