Computer Sharing Sharing Files between 2 Computers

Well, I finally managed to get myself a new PC, but there are a few things I want to share with my old computer. I've got them both connected to my router and enabled file sharing, but neither computer is showing up on each network drives. My new computer is running Vista, whereas my older one is using XP... I'm hoping this won't make a difference, but if someone could guide me through this process I'd be quite appreciative =D

Have you tried just sending the files even if the other computer doesnt show up?? i had this problem with my brother when we tried this over lan but the computers never showed up,so my bro just dragged a file into the sharing folder and i got it on my screen,maybe its the same here, not sure oh but we were both using windows xp

You need to do right click and press share... Is that so much hard to do?

I think you need a LAN cabel. :3
