I need help PLEASE!!!! :( Help please now!?

Ok. Now, when I start TF2, I get up to the screen when it says, "loading" in the bottom cornor. So I wait... and wait... and wait... and wait.... and AAAAAAGH WTH IS TAKEING SO LONG? I find out that tf2 will not pass this and I am pissssssseeeeddd! This is what happens to me.. Because all of the sudden, TF2 like laggged like heck, then my computer froze and then I turned it off the wrong way. I was useing HLSS at that time. So ever since this... it's allways like this. I allready tried That launch start up thing... So yea... I need help. I cant play TF2 and im mad and board on a Friday night... Help?

Well, 2 things, maybe try running it without hlss, like take the whole thing off , and second, dude u shouldnt be playing on a computer on a friday night , u should be out somewhere with ur friends celebrating summer, i hope that helps ;)

He wont lose anything.He could just backup anything he doesnt want to lose.Its not that serious.Its not like hes gonna delete everything on his computer.His stats and such will be there.

Have you raised your video settings recently? And try installing updated drivers just in case. PS: you can add me on steam(karcher42) if you don't get it working, I'll most likely be on tomorrow, it's just kind of late right now.

DUH! Slaps myself I havn't updated the drivers yet... At least I think I didn't.. Yea, tomorow im going to cheak my hard drive for errors, after back Ill get back to you guys! Thanks and Gnight!

So yea.... It didn't work... I don't even think it scaned my hard drive. I set it to this day! :( Omgosh I want to play TF2! :'(

One more thing, I forgot to tell you that everytime I alt tab and end TF2, Steam crashes!

Bumping... I can't take it anymore! I need to play TF2! I was watching my brother playing on it his xbox 360, and the heavy update is comeing soon! I don't want to miss snipeing heads off the heavys! Edit: do you think just deleteing the tf file will work?

Is it ok to just delete the "tf" file? Or should I just delete the whole file?

Your computer probably is being overloaded with information. Try closing processes in your task manager and relaunching the game.

Delete your tf2 GCF files or (if that doesnt work) and all Source Engine Build 14 GCF files (portal Tf2 Ep2) and try reinstalling btw incase you dont know, those files are located here: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps or C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps

I was just googleing... and I found this topic, somone has the same problem as I did... Read all the way at the bottom to see his anwseare http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10228 You really think I should delete the Steam file? And download all my games again?

And download all my games again? that guy has a differant problem (or does he? if he does then what i told you ealrier, disregard,and what im about to tell you disregard) delete SOURCE BUILD 14 GCF (Portal, Ep2, and TF2, DoDS) then it will fix if no fix...... delete all steam files, if STILL no fix...srry? :/

Make sure no programs are blocking TF2. I have Kapersky and a lil window pops up asking to Allow of Deny pretty much everything, so just make sure your anti-virus or firewall or something isn't blocking it.

Open game. while loading, press alt + tab. check firewall, if it asks about hl2.exe. just allow hl2.exe access to internet. and then open tf2, what you have minimized. and whats your anti-virus and firewall? _________________________________________________________ you could try full uninstalling. 1. uninstall tf2 on steam "my games" list. 2. go to c:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/ and check, if there are no any .gcf file, what starts with name team fortress. if you have, delete. 3. go to c:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/your account name/ and delete team fortress 2 folder. 4. install it again

Fixed! :D His method did work! I can finally play TF2! But I lost all my skins for all my other games. :( I also gottta reinstall. BUT YAY ANYWAY IT'S FIXED!
