School Prom Your school prom...

I'm not sure if you have it in other countries, but over here in England, when you leave secondary school (year 11) you usually have a school prom. Everyone gets together, dresses up nicely and such, and supposed to be a fantastic night. Tonight is my school prom. It started at 7pm and finishes at 11pm GMT so yea, it's still going right now. You probably already guessed that I haven't gone. I'm not going to sit here and go through the reasons why I never went, but my girlfriend wanted me to go. Like I said, I have my reasons, but I feel damn awful that I never went for her. I'm sitting here and kinda wishing I went tonight, but mostly happy that I never. Everyone is there and having a great time, once in a lifetime opportunity and i'm sitting here playing TF2. She is going with her friends though (who I doubt will be going with anyone), so I really hope she has a good time. Now the question is, have you been to your school prom, or are you going to your school prom? If you did go to your school problem, what did you think? How did you find it? Please, share your experience with us.

Seriously,you are wierd.Not going to a school prom just to play tf2?This is the rudest thing I said to anybody exept rufus,but you have no life.

I was in the boat as you man. But I went instead, it was worth it, not because of experience (which sucked) but because it made my girl friend happy.

That's a bit sad to be fair. I'm going to go to my high school prom even if I have no one to go with. Like you said its a once in a lifetime chance, so why miss it?

Prom originates from America and Canada. And why post a thread about not going to a prom when your not gonna tell us why???

We have ours in year 12/13 as a joint prom. (The two 6th form years) I didn't go last year, year 12, because I'm going this year, when I'm in year 13. I didn't see the point in spending £30+ twice lol. So I'll see how it goes. There's a girl coming up into 6th form this year too, so maybe the prom won't feel so lonely. ;) But dude, seriously... you should've gone.

My school's proms are way to fucking expensive. I'd rather take my girl friend to a rave club in New York.

We have school proms here. Never went though because I just hate dressing up and all that shit. And the prices for the tickets where a bit to high. The only time I dress up is for someones wedding or perhaps someones birthday. A nice T-shirt and a pair of camouflaged pants do fine on birthdays but for weddings the rich mans suite comes out of the closet. -_- Just hate those stiff cloths. I really do. Also I didn't have anyone to go with because I'm to much guy for the brats at my school. Damn brats! lol

I thought it was going to be more formal. The fucking DJ didn't even play a slow song. With the grinding and ghetto dance moves and music of today, people were practically having sex on the dance floor. I couldn't stand the music or the people, but it was only a few hours, and apprently prom is a really big deal for girls for some reason. By the way, you should of went, your girl friend would have looked hot as hell. They go through so much trouble just to look nice.

I never posted a thread to say I never went and not tell you why. I'd rather keep them to people I know thanks. I've explained to my girlfriend why I wouldn't go and she understands. I won't go to mine either. I go to an all guys school, and I don't really know any girls. I mean, I do, but none in that way. Girls don't like me much anyways. I'm serious about it too. Now for a stupid joke: They keep asking me to pick them over the computer. I mean, psh computer duh! I can create a virtual girl who will make me sandwiches... virtual ones.

I went to my Junior Prom like 2 months ago. I organized a Limo rental with me and my friends. To be honest, it wasn't that fun. I hate (c)rap music and that's almost all that was played. I'm fucking tired of hearing "BOOTS WIT DA FURRRR" like 20 million times. But my girlfriend looked beautiful and I'm going again next year. I might rent a Lamborghini or Ferrari for the day.

I didn't go either. My girlfriend couldn't go anyway, I didn't want to waste £40 on the hall/coach, then maybe £100+ more on buying a suit just to go to some hall and dance (which I can't) for one night. I really couldn't see the point.

I really couldn't see the point. Exactly the same as me, but my girlfriend could go. She was planning to get a limo and go with her friends but that idea went. She did go with her friends though, and they weren't going with anyone which kinda makes it a little better for them hopefully. They'll probably feel a little lonely if I was there. I didn't really want to go, it's not my thing. I like weddings and birthdays, but just not a prom.

I hope you're in the computer lab at school fucking with us. I really do. I never properly finished school, so I never went to my own prom, but I've accompanied a couple of girls to theirs. I found it enjoyable, although not really entertaining.

I didn't go to mine either, it was last month actually. I do not regret it, not one bit. You see, my girlfriend lives three city's over, the night of my prom was the day before her birthday. She had no idea, and while we were eating dinner her parents had asked when was my prom; I had said that it was going on as we ate. Even though my facebook page was raped with people wondering where the hell I was, I don't regret it. So don't worry much. There are other things out there with a larger gravity than prom. -21XL

Have fun finding out what shes done at the after prom... My prom was good :D Had my best mate dance with our favourite Science teacher and then got pissed up at the after party. I didn't go to sleep till 10am (when I got some the following day) and was still drinking at 6am :D

My senior prom was better than my junior prom. Meaning that it was more enjoyable. Last year it was stupid. But I had a better prom date last year than I did this year. But each prom I went to my dates couldn't do anything after. It was dumb. This year though after prom I hung out at a friend's house, and we went to the beach the next day in Rhode Island.

It's usually customary for the guy to ask a girl to Prom. My school has prom and juniors and seniors can go. Most schools in the area only do senior prom. So this year for my junior year I decided I didn't want to go because I think it is a little uncustomary for junior year, along with prom being that once in a lifetime thing that I should remember. So i had 3 girls ask if I would bring them (cause I am damn sexy, duh. McLovin skillzzz) but I declined. I told them all next year I was going and how I felt about junior prom. That being said I had a actual valid reason not to go, I'd rather have my senior prom be more special. You are sitting in your house playing TF2 instead of prom, and you have a girlfriend. Holy shit dude. EDIT: Now that I think of it, really only like 15 juniors went to prom anyway because they all feel the same as me. There was a huge junior party that I went to that pretty much the whole class was at. So, at least I am not alone in my opinions.
