Well, it was a little after midnight where i lived, when i was chilling on the computer, surfing fpsb, and talking to a few people. All of the sudden, my steam goes offline, and i cant load new web pages.
In the situation, i just go and restart the router, and everything works fine. This was not the case, however. I restarted it about 4 times, and the internet did not work. So at this point, my parents see me from their bedroom walking back and forth through the hallway, while they are reading in bed.
They ask me what was going on, so i explained. The phone, internet, and TV cable were all out. This is because my ISP also provides my cable and phone service, they are basically the biggest communications company where i live.
At this point, i remember a story my friend down the street told me, who has the same ISP as me. He has torrented a shitload of different things, and he did it so much that he doesnt use more than half of the stuff he got.
He got his internet shut off due to torrenting, and he had to call the ISP to get it turned back on, and was warned to never do it again.
Also at this point, i remembered that i rarely use torrents, but i used one 2 days ago. Fuck.
I grabbed the phone and looked at the support number for the ISP on the TV. No goddamn dial tone.
This was when i knew i was fucked, but i kept trying anyway. I went into my brother's room, and he was there texting like usual. I asked if i could use his phone, and the battery was about to die and he was in the middle of important shit.
On my way to my room, i saw my mom on her cell phone, and i knew she was probably about to find out. I went in my room, fired up GTA san andreas and played, with my heart beating fucking fast. I was twitching like a crackhead in a crack mansion.
I played for about 14 minutes, thinking how my parents would take it. I decided i would be totally honest with everything once they confronted me with the issue.
my heart was beating hella fast, and i had to piss, so i opened my door, and almost ran into my mom walking down the hall.
She looked at me and said "A local station for the Internet people is having components replaced."
I felt relieved as fuck, and went through all of that for nothing.
