Alright, sorry about all my tech posts but i'm curious and still learning, so this post is about which one is better:

1) 8600GT at 512mb GDDR3 with silent cooling by ASUS for $102.99

Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121098

or

2) ATI Radeon X1650PRO at 512mb GDDR2 for $69.99

Go for the 8500GT but to tell you honestly, both those cards suck. I really suggest getting a 9600GT or at least get a 8600GT because the 8500 is not a gaming card.

What is this? A bulldozer race?

Don't spend under $100 and avoid 256MB. No, 256+256+SLI isn't 512.

If you really need to cheap it, at least get one of these. Otherwise, don't settle for anything slower than a 3850 because the price/perf is non-existant for those low-end cards.

Well you don't need a 450W for a X1950XTX.400W is enough. But why don't you chose a 9600GT ?the cheapest tat you can find on newegg is the PNY 9600GT for $145.

Lol. If you had access to a Fry's, they're selling the 8800gt for $140..... But then again I don't think a 400W PSU would cut it. I wouldn't pick the 8500gt..... I've seen even the 8600gt or the HD2600xt go cheaper.

You can start looking around at parts and reviews now, but I wouldn't make any final plans on any components yet since things can change so fast.

Paired with a 45W processor and basically any motherboard that isn't a 680i or 780i, an X1950XTX should run on 400W. 550W is probably safe range, but you have to remember that at the time, they expected you to drop that thing in a system running a 125W+ processor.

That should work just fine, my 380W PSU could easily handle my power hog X2 5600+ and a X1950 Pro at the same time.

And without a doubt go for the X1950XTX, it beats the living snot out of the 8600. Honestly, it's like 80% faster.

Don't even look at this stuff until you have the money, trust me. I tried to put together a system before I had the money and when I came back to it I had to change every single part.

So you would buy a part that performs 80% worse but costs only 7 dollars less? Yeah, that sure is a good choice..

The X1950 Pro beats the snot out of the 8600. X1950XTX vs 8600 isn't even a contest.

How the fuck is the poll 32:10 for the 1950XTX? Kosai106, azagedon, Karathos, Fallqvist, AsianBorat, AbbelssiiNi, Massive., ch33s3, technicalbbq, UberSpy are clearly not people who should be giving any advice on computer hardware.

So you'd rather refer a piece of shit card to a random person and let them waste their money simply because you're a fanboy? There's something wrong with you.

How that Radeon's card can be so cheap?? Are you sure that's the right one? I would choose that ATI's card. But if I could choose any model of those cards, then NVIDIA.
