Defined simply as a real life situation:

Lets say that Zombies are attacking but one of your friends want to help save a friend. You know that you most likely will be killed by following him go with him anyways. Although you know that your decision is wrong you still follow because you would rather be with a friend than alone and alive.

Or

If you seen the movie Clover field. The guy holding the camera follows the one guy through the city when he knows that its unsafe and they should go the other way.

Not much research has been done on this subject however it is true.

Basically this is a dangerous situation.

I would like to know if you have ever followed a group although you know that its wrong.

It's usually referred to as the bandwagon effect. For a little while, I was interested in social engineering and this is one I followed closely. Long story short, I avoid the majority now. Oddly enough, that's usually the best decision.

I guess when I walk around my friends neighborhood because people always thing we will TP or egg them. I never did those things but I just started being friends with this kid and figured out this happened.
