Looking for characters to play a part in a video

Yesterday I got a video editing program and i'm very keen to learn to use it, and create some cool videos. I was influenced by the late "Meet the Red team" video posted a couple of days ago. That has really interested me, and I am going to try and learn to make movies from the game Team Fortress 2.

I am looking for about 5 people who have Team Fortress 2 who will help out with building the scenes. Your roles will be to follow instructions and to "act" as described. I may also need a video recorder to record footage, as my computer may not be good enough.

Please bear in mind that I am only just learning to create video's, and I want to learn to create movies. I need video footage to do this. This is the perfect opportunity to be a part of a movie.

If you would like to help out, then please reply to this thread. Only reply if you are serious and are actually gonna help out and not just mess around.

Before starting a machinima, I'd suggest you to google tutorials for the source recorder (recording).
And for the editing program you got yesterday, practice! Trust me.

The goal for a good machinima is a great script! at first make a script before continuing with recruiting members.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna be learning quite a bit before I start.

One thing you might be able to help me with is, how the hell did you get the characters to speak? The voice files are located in the GCF i'm guessing, but some of the stuff they were saying I have never heard before. Their lips are synchronized with the words aswell! How?

Hehe, that was quite easy, Hylkema instructed the players to do taunts or say something like the "yes" or "negative" emots stuff.

To sync them is quite easy too.. if you use After Effects, add the sound and view it's curve and then just sync it with the character.

Another clues:
Brainstorm what is popular right now in tf2 (Don't EVER use meems tho) and make fun about it.

If you are editing the movie you should record.

Get PROFESSIONAL actors or at last some you can trust to not to fuck up.
they SHOULD understand english! <-- Quite annoying on the vent server when there is some which doesn't.

After finishing the script recruit.

get a teamspeak server or vent server

buy/rent a game server!!!!

Get a director, you can'T direct and record at the same time. uhm well you can... but it sucks for you then.

Good! Like diwako said, nothing more annoying trying to instruct someone who has no idea what you're saying.

I'm gonna set up a studio for this project because it will be easier to communicate with you guys. I'll post the link in a minute.
