To tell you the truth, I absolutely hate them. I used to like them until my brother started playing their songs over and over and over again, non-stop. I got so annoyed I just started to hate 'em.

Some of their songs are pretty good, but stupidmonkey has a point, they're overplayed on the radio, and when listened in excess, you start not to like them. Personally I don't really enjoy their music that much :|.

While I agree, I love their earlier work so much more, but more specifically, By The Way and Californication, but ESPECIALLY Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic. Stadium Arcadium was ok, it was experimental but very dissatisfying.

RHCP's point is not to be musically amazing. I can play a good deal of Fruciante's work and I'm a novice guitarist. It's the fact that all of their work melds together so well on some albums. It's semi-Beatles if you think about it. Paul wasn't a great guitarist, Ringo wasn't a great drummer, John wasn't too bad, but it boils down to how well a band sounds.

As for Flea though, his bass skills are mindblowing.

Oh, and their earliest work, a la Freakey Styley, is so creative and crazy. But that's when they all did drugs D:

Album-wise, Fru's solo's aren't mindblowing but they sound great.

I've seen them live twice, and I can tell you personally that his hands were flying down his Stratocaster.

They're alright but you make them sound like they're amazing, tons of other bands and people have the same talents.

Yeah i dont have one hot minute but other then that i have them all after mothers milk, except the last 3 songs on my californication are scratched pisses me off. and to spawndex nice! you were hardcore enough to get it on your wrist mines on my upper arm right under the shoulder...and my pic was when it was fresh and it doesnt look like that no more...need to get it touched up.

I think that Stadium Arcadium was simply too bland lyrically for me to care about it. I don't know how many times I've listened to By The Way though.

Oh, and FYI, both Flea and Fru played in Deloused in the Comatorium and Frances the Mute, The Mars Volta albums. You can notice their distinctive play style amidst all of Cedric Bixlar-Zavala's singing.

Exactly the same, there i'd just took the wrapping they put on it off, so it looked all shiny, can see the stretch marks from where they wrapped my wrist up, haha. Im going back tomorow to get it touched up, actually :)
