I have been working hard the past 2 days mostly, for hours on end on my new and latest module. The module is called "Madlib Box".

What is the "Madlib Box"?
The madlib box is a module you can install to your profile and setup a paragraph of text leaving out some words. The words you leave out will be replace by a tag. The missing words are then entered into a seperate texbox and saved into the database. Users who visit your profile can then attempt and filling in the missing words.

What are some of the features?
The module has a few features. The main one being a ranking system where the top 25 "madlibbers" are put on every profile who has the module installed. When going to the main page of the module, you will see a table of the top 25 madlibbers. They're not listed on the profile box. The top 25 users are selected in order of their average score. Each madlib entry you submit will be marked and adjustments will be made to your individual score. The ranks show a users total score of all of the madlibs they have participated in, and an average is calculated based on this information.

Other features are minor, such as when someone submits an entry to your madlib, an event will appear under your event log to notify you. This can be turned off of course. The main module page also shows all of the entries submitted to the madlib you are viewing, along with their score. The final minor feature is on the main module page, the last 5 newly added madlib's are shown.

Why are you telling me this?
I hope that this module will become popular and used by alot of the members here at FPSBanana, and the ranking system was created to motivate users to participate. Also, because I have just finished the module, I would like users to start adding the module so if they find any bugs, they can report them to me and I can fix them.

How can I get the module?
You can install the module by going here. Please be aware that this module is still in the beta stage, but is in a useable condition. Also, like I said, if you find any bugs within this module, or if you have any suggestions, please PM me.

Why the madlib module?
The module idea came from Mastergun who requested it. Credit goes to him for giving me the idea. I also created it because I think it's a really creative and fun module.

NOTE TO ADMINS/MODERATORS
All admins and mods have access to the Admninstator Control page. On this page you will find the option to ban members from creating madlibs. It's not down to you to moderate this mod, but i'd appreciate it if you find a user creating modules with answers which are completely inappropriate for their madlib. For example, a madlib of "Counter Strike Source is a -blank- game". When entering FPS into the textbox, and is the wrong answer, the user should be banned as this gives a disadvantage to user ranks.

To access the administator page, click the Edit button on your profile under the module box, and click "Administrator Control".

Note: Any members who find madlibs which are incorrect can report them to me, and the madlib owner will be banned from creating madlibs.

NEW! Thanks to CSHunter, we now have a club! You will find updates and upcoming updates to the module, aswell as lots of other information!

It doesn't work...
No-one can actually use it. When you look at someone else's madlib, you either see the entire passage or #word1# and so on, but with no way of putting words there.

And if you try to submit that it gives you 0.

I don't get it (how it works) :(

For you:
Users will have the madlib box on their profile. You will see a paragraph of text with "------" in places. The dashes represent a missing word. Click the "Madlib Box" (title) to enter, or the Submit an entry text. You will then see the madlib with texboxes in places. These boxes are for you to type in the word which is missing.

For example, a madlib says "This website is called -blank-". -blank- represents a textbox.
You will then type in "fpsbanana" and click Submit entry. Your answer will then be compared with what the user has put. If it is correct, you get 1 mark. The mark is then saved under your userid in a database.

For others:
You go to your profile, and click the Edit button under the Madlib Box. You'll then see a page giving you the option of creating a new madlib. Click that button. You'll then see a form. In the madlib box, type a paragraph of text. To enter a missing word, like in my example above, I would enter:
"This website is called #word1#."
The #word1# tag will just let the script know you want a textbox their for another user to enter an answer. Once done with you're madlib, go to the next part which is where you enter in the correct answers. Again, in the above example, in the textbox named "Word 1", I would enter "fpsbanana".

Simply save the madlib, and let other users try and get all of your answers correct.

And if you try to submit that it gives you 0.

I've seen a couple of people who have typed #word1# incorrect, like #word01#. The tag has to be how I have said. Some people haven't even added the tags, which is why you aren't seeing textboxes. I can see this madlib fine: click

Thanks CSHunter. Link added to the main page.

I updated the module and fixed a bug where scoring was case-sensitive. If someone put the answer as "FPSBanana" and the other person enters "fpsbanana", it was marked incorrect. I also increased the character limit on the madlib to 500 characters.
