While looking around the internet for a cheap laptop, I came across this HP Pavilion G6060EA on Play.com for £420. I was looking for something that could handle quite a bit for a laptop and this looks like it can suit my needs, along with playing a game or two on the side. I know the 7000M chipset isn't that powerful at all in comparison to even low end GPUs but as long as it can play on low/medium I'd be happy.

Basically, I'm wondering if this is a good buy? As I said I've been looking around and I'm not really willing to spend alot more than that considering the price you pay for a laptop is mainly Hard Drive space and RAM, which IMO is easily upgraded even on a laptop. Would this be worth it?

Also, I haven't been able to find any reviews, so I know nothing of the battery life of this laptop. Any help on that would be appreciated, or even finding a better laptop for around £400 - £450.

Thanks in advance,
Shaydee

Well low end cards can barely play games at low, so you're going to have to play old games on it. If you want more details on that notebook, I suggest you check out the Dell website.

As far as laptops go, I suggest a MacBook, I think thats over your budget.

I'd look at cheap Dell reviews, find a good one, and get the cheapest RAM options on it. Upgrading it later, or buying it somewhere else will save you money.

Well, if Alienware create for laptop edition, go get it.

Dell - Business Computer
Apple - Entertainment
HP - Business and Performance
WhiteBox - Gaming
Acer - Entertainment , Gaming and Performance

I suggest Acer.

Yet they all run Windows(except for the Mac), and have the same hardware.

Those are nice and all but you should check out

Ibuypower.com
cyberpowerpc.com
falconorthwest.com
velocitymicro.com

These are all dedicated companies that build machines from industry standard components, which means that the price is cheaper for better hardware. I have personal experience with Ibuypower, and game on a 2 year old machine that still runs almost all the games i want. After i bought my Ibuypower machine, my friend then bought one and then his friend. They are all good for the price set you are looking for.

Asus are also pretty good, if you dont mind exploring the higher price ranges though.

I would reccomend an ENVY but sinse we're not rich millionaires i dont think anyone will be buying one soon.

I suggest Acer.

Acer is full of startup programs that need at least 20k of ram to run...
An Acer laptop still need 1.16Gb at least to start Vista, so no gaming and no good performance = no entertainment...
And Apple computers are for Buisness...
You forgot Sony wich is for entertainment and busness with performance.
If you buy a dell with a T9300 and dual 8600GT I bet it ain't a buisness computer.

So has no one bothered to look here? All laptops come without the crap that you find on the ones offered by Acer, HP, Packard bell, Dell to just name a few.
