I have a Quad-core and it's amazingly fast compared to a single core. I'm able to have so much running at one time, without hurting the computer's performance.

I once had msn, iTunes, CoD4, TMNF and Opera open at one time...and was still typing in Word at normal pace. :)

Zubesh337, you probably might want to reconsider buying a new motherboard too, since a P4 mobo probably won't support quad core, and probably, you'll need ddr2 memory and a pci-e videocard. So if I were you I'd check for those things too.
