Yeah hi guys I was wondering why my framerate is getting killed on my new 7600GT? I took some screenshots but it may not look laggy but its as tho I have 400 ping in some places.
And I was wondering if my CPU could be bottlenecking it?? and also when I start up my computer it decides to fuck up explorer, then I have to end in through task manager and then use run to restart it, its beginning to become a pain in the ass.
And also when joining a server it takes like 5 minutes when it only used to be 2.
Heres the first screenshot:Photobucket
Normally I get like 80 FPS

Heres the second screenie:Photobucket

[EDIT] I have all settings maxed except for resolution which is at 1124 HDR which is set to none and AA set to none.

The ping jumped because of my brothers sick obsession with myspace.

So did this happen when you installed the new card, or was everything ok for a while after you installed it? What card did you get 80 FPS with?

I dunno bout this. but im suggesting that u change back ur graphics card. see if there any different in that. or maybe a graphic failure.

oh yeah and im suggesting that u have more hard disk. 110gb is not enough though. 160gb or above could be ok

I have just 30 Gb remain in my space and css doesn't lag at all.
So I don't think the space is the problem.

It doesn't matter as my Steam games are on D:/ with 4 GB's free space, running CS:S 130 FPS +dxlevel 9 AA x8 1024x768 anyway. (With 7600GS)

I am also getting this kind of thing.

HD3850
AMD Athlon x2 4200
2GB RAM
250GB HDD.

Perhaps it's CS:S not our hardware.

For the explorer.exe fucking up, I have the same problem. Just wait around 10-20 seconds before logging in and it won't fuck up.

Theres about 50-60 running all at one time.

That is way to many process. For XP, I rarely get over 35, and that is when I have multiple programs running.

Try to roll back your graphics drivers. Sometimes the newer ones present new bugs.

Do you mind taking a screenshot of your task manager fully opened? And by the way, did you just recently install any custom skins, or that GUI?

close down everything you don't need when playing a game. Objectdock, Rocketdock, msn, fraps etc........
You only have 1280Mb RAM and would most likely need more then 2Gb to run all those apps and a game at the same time.

I'd say switch to the old version of Adaware instead of the new festering boil that they managed to come up with, but manual definition updates aren't very fun.

1280MB of RAM sounds like 2GB minus 768MB. Is onboard video claiming that much?

Disable onboard video if you haven't and uninstall all those stupid SIS programs. Keyhook.exe and sistray.exe are both unnecessary if you're using the 7600GT. If you can't uninstall them or just want to keep them for some reason, run msconfig (from the run thing in start) and disable them both in the startup tab. Disable anything else that you don't figure you'll need either.

Oh! Does the 7600GT have a power wire? If so, see if it's plugged where needed.
