Well, tomorrow's Easter and for Easter I get money and gifts and whatnot besides the usual candy. I usually just get money so I decided to put it toward new Computer Speakers and a new Keyboard.

The speakers I've got sorted out, not to hard to find a good 2.1 Speaker System. Anyways, I want a nice BACKLIT / ILLUMINATED keyboard that matches my setup. Everything In my setup is Black. My Screen is black, my Mouse is Two Toned Black and Silver, my speakers I'm getting are Two Toned as well, and My Computer Case is Black, Silver and has Green LED Fans and neon lights.

So a WIRED Black Keyboard with Blue or Green Backlighting would look best. The thing is I want it for a reasonable price. (under $50 would be great), and quality of coarse is always important. I was looking at the Saitek Eclipse but almost every review said the key paint worse off. Spill proof would be a plus as well, but it's not necessary. I don't need a Logitech G1300xProMegaUltraGigaShock Gaming Keyboard with 45 extra buttons for WoW and shit like that. Just a regular old keyboard with Blue / Green Back lighting and good quality.

Some I have been looking at: I'm not limited to those two keyboard, those are just what I have been looking at.

Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard (A little pricey, but looks mad nice)

Saitek II Eclipse Illuminated Keyboard (Heard the paint rubs off really easily, cheap quality?)

Any suggestions?

How long have you had it? Have the letters rubbed off the keys?

I would get the saitek because of its normal key layout and the colour changing and its cheaper than the razer keyboard.

I've had it for about 3 years now. No damage to any of the keys. It's pretty robust.

I've got the Saitek Eclipse II. I've had no problems with it at all after well over a year of use.

They both cost roughly the same. Just a couple dollars off. Do you have a use for the additional usb ports?

Well, I've had the Saitek Explise II for about 2 years and it's still kickass. It's durable, tough, and it gets the job down. It comes in three colors, red, purple, and blue. They're pretty nice. But since your going to buy the older version I don't know. It looks pretty cheap to me. I would say go for the Microsoft one since it looks better and has a few more extra keys that you could customize and use :D

I've read the keys are smaller than normal keyboards, and that it lays flat (no back supports) is that true?

I've had the Saitek Eclipse (first one) for quite a while. Yes, the paint does wear off of the keys you use the most (W,S,A,D,C,Shift,Enter) in my case, but it's still readable.

No, the keys are normal sized, and there are back supports.

That thing sucks. Badly.

Just get a cheap EL keyboard. If it's one thing you don't need to waste your money on, it's a fancy keyboard. I've got a plain black one that held up longer than my logitechs, Razers, Belkins and Microsofts.

Nope, that's a bunch of lies. My keys are the same size as they would be on any other keyboard, and yes, there are back supports.

I doubt that "laser" keyboard was supposed to be good but more of an experiment to advance in technology.

Or just to save space. :3

So should I get one of the Saitek Keyboards or something else?

Both are nice keyboards but out of those two I'd get the saitek II. Nice quality for a decent price. But honestly man just get the Logitech G15. I've had it for a little over a year now and it's awesome. Has the same illuminated feature and even a few more tweaks. But it's your choice. =]
