Operation: Save Old Maps! Get Points!! There are some great maps out there that are not getting any attention due to this problem. Help us out and get rewarded!

The Problem I've noticed that a lot of old maps throughout the site do not have any screenshots and that will eventually lead to their deletion. We can't contact the submitter since the maps have, for the most part, been transferred to the Guest account. A lot of these maps are of very high quality and don't deserve that fate! Plus they are relics from CSB (kind of like me! :O). The Solution Our solution to this problem, is to offer you the members, points for each map that you take screenshots for. All you have to do is download the map, launch it and take 2-6 screenshots, then upload them to an Image Hosting website, place the link here and the Moderators will take care of the rest. You will get 200 Points for each map that you do. The points are payed out every time Lost or SGT_kick_ur_ass are online and finished uploading the screenshots. Why Don't the Mods Do It? The site has nearly 15 000 maps. Even with our help, it will take a long time to go through all of the maps that don't have screenshots. Chances are that we probably won't get all of the maps before some get trashed, but the purpose of this thread is to save what we can from being trashed. So what do you say, FPS/RTS/RPGBanana? D: That's the way it is now, but it used to be an option back in the days of CSB. You could also submit screenshots to maps if they weren't already submitted before. But due to vandalism that had to stop.

Am I the only one noticing that soon after this thread was made a whole bunch of screenshots just disappeared? Nearly all of my submissions don't have screenshots anymore.

As a bonus for those who contribute i'll be more than happy to dish out some points. See the problem is when we first changed over to this site format we didn't force registration for submissions and downloads. You could upload anonymously, which may have been converted to the guest account. This also means no requirements of any sort of the submission. People just threw maps on the site no screens, no effort nothin. It was madness. I'm sure the map mods will be more than happy to help out with this, and i'm am too. Also, i think there is a problem with the site's pictures. I've noticed a lot of submissions appear not to have screenshots, yet when i edit them to see, there are 2-3 screenshots uploaded. Probably a big bug that tom needs to blast with his BFG.

I have 12 gigs of maps that even this site doesn't have. I really don't feel like going through every one and taking screen shots. Either way, the maps that we have are awesome, I just don't think a lot of people would do it. Ill help on my laptop either way.

Whether we get 100 people or 10 people, it doesn't really matter, as long as people are lending a helping hand, it not only gets great maps the attention they deserve but it also helps the community to think and work as a team instead of individuals. In times like right now on FPSB, I think that's just what we need.

Why would it need to be up to date? DOesn't this only concern old maps? I would ask him or sgt. They do most in those sections.

I meant did he really go through all of the maps or just most of them? The problem I see with his list is that he doesn't say the name of the map, it just says map, which makes it a little hard to duplicate his list.

Alrighty, I'll talk to him about it. Also, I think I've found a way to find out if a map is bugged or really does not have screenshots. When you're looking at the map profile, make sure that it says None found where the screenshots should be. If it does not say that, then I think the map is bugged. Just keep an eye out, if you don't it can turn into a huge waste of time.

I'll take a look through those in about a half an hour, wildcard, I have to go do something with my family. But before I go, I posted up screenshots for the first map on the cs_ section of the list, cs_AnD. Here they are: I crossed cs_AnD off of the list in the thread starter and put up a direct link to those shots. That's how I'm going to do all of the maps.

My Map List is up to date, and its under watchlists for all the mapmods so if you add your screenshots there they will be notified. And it would be best to include a link to the map itself along with screenshots.

Just to explain, I had moved the maplist from the Modtalk forums to the Public Todolist section once we knocked it down by about a quarter. The reason for them all being called Map is because I spent several hours going through the entire 1.6 section grabbing links and pasting them into notepad, ran a macro and had it output them as html links. Now as for posting screenshots, you can do it in the original thread or in this one if you wish, just make sure you notify myself SGT or Blackop if posting them here..

Now I just need to download the maps and take screen shots. Once I found out what really needs the screen shots then I will go ahead and do it.

The DE maps are pretty much done, I did them all a while ago. Unless the screenshots got mixed up and disappeared, I don't think there's any submission without one.

Like I said, my list is literally the final map list for 1.6 We did do a huge chunk in there, not too many left. Just that image server went down and is causing issues again.
