Here is what I have completed so far in "painting" my map as an image. I will update the WiP's as I get a chance.

That looks Godlike!

I find it strange though that the yellow lines stop after hitting that gray light, or are they tiles? well I just find that odd. But I'm sure it'll have a good look later on. :O

I like the tiles, it looks like a sketch/actual map. Quite 50%50 here lol, anyway it's all good.
Well I have to say I'm quite amazed that your painting this map in GIMP. I never thought of painting a map, it's quite original. I always edit one tile at a time, but this way it would be so much better.

You got skills man. I like this already. :)

Based on a sketch I did a long time ago, I am finally getting back into CS2D mapping with my remake of the map de_bridge. The map is being developed entirely as a single large image, to be inputted as an entity "env_image" to fill the entire map. This way, I can have an extremely highly detailed, easily editted layout and design for my map without having to worry about making a complex tileset.
