Your $basetexture "modelshumansGroup03marine", is incorrectly formatted from the looks of it.

You need \ slashes in between folder locations, starting from the base materials folder.

example from my latest prop model,

"$baseTexture" "models\weapons\w_stickybomb\ball_o_fire"

where ball_o_fire is the actual texture name without the .vtf added.

Are you using the VertixLit Generic shader in the .vmt file?

I would do this myself but I have no idea how to begin animating bones.
