Steam Group for Developers

I've opened up the Steam Group that the department heads have been using to contact one another etc to the rest of the team. Its free to join atm so we don't have to worry about requests/invites etc.

MegaMod Steam Group

We'll be using it to to send notifications of major events, project postings and small updates about the mod such as critical SVN updates all developers should download. The overall goal is to increase communication between departments so everyone's on the same page and confusion is reduced.

So, is there a predicted alpha/beta release date?
Mappers will be starting on a prototype-ish first mission (next 2 weeks if concept finishes up the last of it) for the mod which will be used as the testing grounds for all coding, modelling, texturing etc work that needs to be done

I don't think a 'true' public beta or alpha will be available for a while, if anything it would be our testing version for initial feedback.

Or maybe the concepts aren't approved yet?
They have 10 weapon concepts and will soon have some other small tasks however I believe they are waiting on some technical drawings from the concept department to help out the modellers create the weapons themselves.

There is a thread within the skinning department on that topic I believe.

Of course thats what they do, if all they did was textures then wouldn't they be the GFX department heh.

Still, I'm thinking the HUD/Sprites dept really shouldn't exist in the first place and be merged with GFX anyways. Poll about that will be up in a bit.
