I wish I new what you were talking about :(
All I understood was arrays and variables and MySQL insert. I dont even get how this function could possibly know when the item was posted. And where the $data array from?

When an item is saved to your databse, have it save a timestamp in the db as well. Then, when displaying the saved item, have it load the timestamp as well as the saved item. Use age_format($timestamp) to change your timestamp into the "2 hours ago" format.

Then get the time which will be a unix timestamp but use the function. Like:

$submitted = age_format_time($data['last_online']);

MySQL insert...

How do you use the api function which displays how long ago the item was posted?

What do you mean? Actually get the time something was posted, or convert it to "2 minutes ago"?

For example:
"Posted 1 hour ago" or "Posted 2 days ago" etc.

age_format_time($var) i think. Look in api.php at the last function.

I know, but I don't know how to use it. I want it to be submitted into a database.
