Author's Readme/Notes:
This is just a very simple, completely fool-proof solution to the really annoying message notification for Steam Friends when someone sends you a message. The problem with these sounds is that if its too quiet, you won't be able to hear it in-game but at the same time if it's too loud, it's extremely annoying when you're not in-game, because the exact same sound is heard in both instances when you receive a message from someone via Steam Friends.
This sound finds a balance between the two. It was creating using the various windows default sounds I found on my computer. I mixed 2-3 sounds together to form one that's quiet, but will still get your attention because of the pitch of the sound, not the loudness factor. It has been tested both in and out of games and proven very reliable and yes, waaaaaaay less annoying.
I've also made the sound have a 6-7 second area at the end with no noise, but it fills up space so that if someone decides to...

...in their messages, you'll only get one nice message notification instead of 2-3 really, really annoying sounds.
To install, navigate to your Steam folder and place the sound in the zip you downloaded in your /friends folder. Make sure that you overwrite or backup the old Steam default sound located in the same folder. Now, right-click on the file you just added and select Properties. Toward the bottom of the window that appears, check the box next to "Read-only", and then press "OK" to save your settings. Now you're done! You don't even need to restart Steam, either. How about that.
Anyhow, thanks for reading and downloading and enjoy.
As always, comments, assessments, and stamps are more than welcome.
