Pistols are big.

I do not have large hands. I fit a medium glove snuggly and have a thumb which is 2.5" (knuckle to tip). However, this should be sufficient to demonstrate.

Here is a 1911 sized gun in my hand. As you can see, I can easily reach where the magazine release would be as well as where the safety would be. The 1911 is easily wielded single handedly.


And here is a Kimber sized gun in my hand. This is pretty much representative of your typical oversized double stack pistol like the USP and Beretta. With a good grip on it, I'm a good inch shy of reaching the mag release. If I put my thumb on it securely, I can't pull the trigger. Your thumb would be certainly suitable for inappropriate tasks if you could reach the slide release with your thumb using one hand.

In this release is a set of anims for USP by Evil_Ice which are animated for a large (read: correctly scaled) gun. If someone would make a CSS rig to fit these animations in SMD format and give them to me, I might be inclined to give them points or something. Or you could just release something yourself and beat me to it. I don't care either way.
