Author's Readme/Notes Skullhunter's High Resolution Desert Eagle for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Description: There's only a few skins out there for the Desert Eagle and most of them seem to be simple recolors, so I decided to take a shot at making my own. Thanks to Millenia's tutorials and a few days of very intense work, here's the result, an original skin almost completely from scratch with custom bump maps. Plus you get two options for the grip, one standard black grip or one wood grip and two options for sights, green or white. Preview pictures are included to help you make up your mind. Enjoy! Installation: Unpack the archive file anywhere, then decide which grip texture you want, wood or black. In the folder corresponding to the grip texture you want, there will be a folder called "textures"; copy it to your gamedata directory. REMEMBER TO BACK UP ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT OVERWRITTEN. Thanks to: Millenia for his tutorials, BAC9-FLCL and Siro for their support, and my loved ones for their support and patience. Pros: Very detailed and pretty well-made skin. I really do like both versions, they are very solid and good-looking. Gun metal looks as it must be. Also, it's 4 times bigger than the original one: this is the 1024x1024 skin with every pixel used well. And the other another pro is that this skin is made from scratch. Cons: Only con is the green aim marks... to say straight, they doesn't fit good in this texture. I prefer white :) Improvements: Only thing I can say is to replace those marks with white. It's the great skin. Notes: Yay, as I see, you're using that Marked One skin. I'm happy :)

It's a great improvement especially for those who can't have the game on higher graphics , they just geat a blurry mess . this is a great retex . its great , shame the default deagle origins suck , i'd like to see more of the gun when i'm playing stalker ex: css deagle origins

Detail: The world views are great, really looks amazing. Problem is with the player view. It looks way to dark, and the darkness takes away a lot of the detail from the gun. May just be the screenshot angle, I don't know. Originality: Well, to be realistic...a lot of people try to make high resolution realistic skins. So originality in "based off life" weapons go out the window once you try to make it even more realistic. Realism: Well, you could clearly find this weapon in real life, so yeah, it's realistic. Texture: Texture looks fine from W_, in V_ it kind of looks slightly blurry. A part of the barrel sticks out a bit, as it doesn't really look like it should be textured the wait it is in that exact spot. I'm figuring all cons that I'm noticing may be ironed out when you are actually using the skin in game. So I'd say it's a pretty good reskin. Even more considering it's directly from scratch.
