Author's Readme/Notes Hazard-Striped Minigun by Xithon (Drunken Munkey in-game) --------------------------------------------------------- This is my first skin release which is designed to modify the Heavy's minigun/chaingun for Team Fortress 2. It's a simple design which basically adds yellow and black hazard stripes to the firing end on the weapon. I made this purely because it was a design I initially went looking for but couldn't find online, so I thought I'd give it a go myself. Installation: Extract the rar file straight into your Steam/Steamapps/[your email]/Team Fortress 2 directory. If a message pops up asking to overwrite files, just click Yes. Notes: No known issues, I've tried to make the skin as seamless as possible, so if installation went ok, it should look fine. If you happen to join a server and find that the skin doesn't show up, it may be because either the installation didn't work or you've joined a 'pure' server. Pure servers basically prevent you from using your own custom skins in order to prevent certain exploits and/or hacks. Try a few other servers and double check that the files in your tf directory are in the same folders as in this rar. You should find two new texture files which are for the in-game weapon and the world model. The model itself is not modified in any way and this skin is designed purely for appearance. Enjoy!

Thanks guys for the helpful (and quite prompt!) feedback, I totally understand what you're getting at. I've actually been having some thoughts about the design myself and I may give it another shot today. I was worried that it may look out of place in a cartoony setting, so I may try making it look a little more fitting.

So in short(er); the stripes don't go with the gun unless the whole gun is in the same style. ...Eh, I'll download it, see how it looks in game with the rest of my skins. i second his advice. for a first skin it was an honest mistake, but you must consider balance. if one small end of the gun is so detailed it creates a lot of contrast with the rest of the bland skin. try to work on the rest of it, but dont go overboard. dont let the whole thing become one giant splat of hazard stripes. keep the detail of the gun intact.
