Dude, one of the best ways to learn how to do skinning is to start with an idea and go from there. Look at tutorials and I've found the Valve DC to be helpful in the VMT department. Come on, take this out and work on it.

Solid coloring isnt usually a good way to make skins. ways to improve Practice, practice, and keep practicing. Learn how to texture. Textures usually consist of using a difference of colors, scratches, and things of the sort. try going for a wood or metal texture. For metal, make slight dodges to add scratches, and maybe use some grunge brushes to make a gray color appear more like metal.

Ah...ok. But I happen to be a noob when it comes to DX. So I can't really try level 9 yet.

Well, it's minimalist so I'll consider it original since there aren't many single-colored bats.. hmm.. screenshots leave a lot to desire since there's not a full DX9 shading effects, so the phong looks really.. uhh.. bad.. so I'd suggest you using this skin in another computer, (I dunno, friend's PC or something) so it looks way different! .. Screenshots take a good percentage of people's opinion here, so try updating them and better quality.. well uhh.. you could make some details to the texture and stuff, maybe add any other colour? I'll give it a 7.0 since it's a nice work for a first time.

Notes: Im sorry, but all you did was cover the bat with white, and put the black line on the bottom... This lacks talent. But NT for your first skin. And second I don't like it either. Also no world view. :(
