I added the files into the right directory but when I play the game the come out a transuslent-sort-of colour, any ideas on why this happens?

You should add some phong maps to this or something. Also, the sound directory is wrong, it should by sound/weapons/elite, not sound/elite. The sounds you included are okay but they kind of sound like defaults and are pretty low quality. Still, solid reskin.
