Author's Readme/Notes:

A set of stairs which pops out of the ground step by step in a real smooth action and it does this when the player walks through an activator. this is my second prefab so be nice :)! this vmf also works with hl2.btw sorry for the bad picture i will get a better one asap meanwhile watch the video. :) if you use this in your map credit me :)

1) The name is bad, I had no clue what it was supposed to be.
2) The screen shot is horrible, I had to click on the thumbnail to even have an idea of what the "Automated stairs" were.
3) Nice youtube vid, I think I'm going to use this skin in the feature. Even though I totally dissed you, you're getting a 10/10.

Pros: Smooth like you said.

Works without error from what I can see.

Definitely reminds me of Portal. You implemented it pretty well.
Cons: No sounds. This makes it not as cool. If you add sounds you can easily make a very nice effect. I myself can easily edit each stair so that the start, move, and stop sounds are identified and that will solve it.
Improvements: Add sounds maybe, and also give it some different textures. They're not a bad choice, but not the best.
Notes: Keep it up. I'm liking it.

Kinda simple to make

just make the brushes, ctrl T make it a func_door then make it move direction down, make some triggers thats all ^^ but nice idea *i have one for my map :D zombie map ^^

That's really neat - set the initial trip back further so you can go right at it full tilt - I found with triggers and floor buttons that the player's dude is moving so fast, I had to set them back further for timing's sake - good on ya for taking time to put up a video
