Hey, I just wanted to drop by and say that you are gaining my respect. I don't know if you ever noticed but back a couple of months, or maybe it was a year ago I didn't respect you at all mainly because of your bad english but it has improved. I also remember that you put an IE watermark on one of your screenshots and it bugged me. Good luck with skinning, try to skin a gun instead of a knife. I think it's easier but it takes more time.

Constructive feedback is very important. Telling an author that his skin looks "horrible" or that his skin is "the worst skin ever" won't help him get better. In fact, it could even discourage him to keep skinning. I'm sure you can provide better feedback than that.

I'm relatively new to fpsbanana. I had no intentions of joining before because you can DL stuff anyways. I had a community before, called [House], we had the most popular ZM server in the world.

But now that I joined, I start seeing a LOT of elitist and selfish people. And then there's the party poopers, those serious people who can't take a goddamn joke.

So, you know... retiring is not a good way of solving problems. Although I do it.

I dont know if im using the correct way but whatever:

first you have to assign the basetexture to your model, add some specular and place some omni lights in the scene

then go to rendering, render to texture.

change all all setting to this:

yeah and then click render

Well here's how I did it:

1: Do all your lighting. Make sure you're happy with it first. (lol im never happy with it) I did my lighting on a layer filled with a mid grey using dodge and burn. Get the brightness of the skin to what you want now.

2: Do your scratches. I do mine on a new layer with a white 1px brush on 100% hard set to color dodge OR overlay and then I erase bits of it with a grunge brush.

3: Make some big blobby grunge by using two new layers set to overlay on low opacities. On one layer, use white, on the other, use black.

4: Do the same again, but this time use really big, light, and more dusty looking brushes at even lower opacities. Make sure to use both black and white grunge on two layers.

5: PROFIT!
