CSA - Community Submission Assessment
CSA is FPSB's experimental community self-moderation initiative aimed at reducing administration burden and giving users the ability to participate in the moderation of submissions.
CSA is FPSB's experimental community self-moderation initiative aimed at reducing administration burden and giving users the ability to participate in the moderation of submissions. Any registered user can either approve or disapprove a submission. When approving, the user acknowledges that the submission has no grounds for disapproval. When disapproving, the user feels that the submission breaks one or more fundamental rules.

When approving or disapproving, a user must provide written feedback to the author. Constructive feedback, in our view, is the most important part of the artistic process and for this reason we moderate unconstructive criticism heavily.

If the author finds your assessment unfair or a mistake, they can appeal it. If your assessment is appealed you will be notified. You can revise your assessment or choose to refuse the appeal. If you refuse the appeal, or the author rejects your revised assessment, an admin will then resolve the dispute.

Very well thought-out scheme so that if the file is useless and the only vote that does not need admin rete it.

I hate it when I don't get the chance to fix my disapproved submission, it's just a little fix but I wasn't online until it was trashed to hell.

What are the rules concerning hacks and cheats in the forum. Other than we don't want them here. How far is too far?

What do we do if we believe the thread should be deleted for promoting the use of hacks or cheats? Is this counted as illegitimate? I'm not absolutely sure. Some clarification might be nice...

...but when users are approving a file that gives an unfair advantage i disagree...
I mean you say this is important for artistic reasons? What about the whole reason people play online games? we come to have fun not for other people to ruin it with (admittedly, well made) files that give the person using it an edge on other that arent! we might aswell all just download an aimbot and wallhack and have one big hack fest. FPS as a community should understand the difference between files that are fair and worth approving to ones that might be well made but are at the end of the day cheats.
....

hmm i agree to an extent. Some of those Bomb LEDS and some of those scopes are DODGY as hell.
*EDIT* oh and ernie... i remember the ernie mdl from quake2... ahh good times

There needs to be some updates made to this CSA thing, I mean a person can add a spray and get a 10 and a 9 vote then a couple people trying to be jerks can just come in and give two bad assessments and your work is deleted, I don't see how that if fair to the person who did the submission.

Also the "lack of effort" selection should be a little more clear on what is considered "lack of effort", someone can spend 20 minutes working on a spray and then be told it lacks effort? How do these assessors know how much effort is put into them huh? Granted you can tell if an image is just resized and made into a spray file, but if someone takes the time to make a spray transparent, doing al lthe cutting and editing then how can that be considered "lack of effort"?

I think before a submission gets deleted an admin should have to view it and read the assessments before the submission is then accecpted as deleted or not.

Because why should people waste there time and effort to provide content to the site if two people can just have your work deleted anyway because they "think" they know the ammount of effort you put into something.

I think that all existing member's and new member's should be prompted to read this.

I dont know where to write my reply to an assesment so Ill write few words here...

This site seems like self appraisal society... I gave this map (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/16833) 6/10... because:
1. it's nothing original
2. ok, he fixed sme glitches and added some minor stuff (one corridor, WOooooooOooW)
3. it is WORTHY... do you know meaning of this word? i don't look at the points... i look at words, the have more meaning than 6/10

If some people gave more than6/10 I have one question to them? HAVE U EVER PLAYED HL2? This thing was created by Valve!!! He just pimped it... a little bit! A LITTLEEEEEeeee bit...

6/10... still (or putting it another way... it's WORTHY)
