This Tuesday, and Thursday of this upcoming week, I have to attend full fire fighter's funerals for two of our oldest members who died, a past Chief of the company, and a past president.

I've freshened up my profile music with a bit of Muse, and a lot of
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
.
I like songs that sound great right off the bat, and these bands deliver very well in that aspect.

This weekend I'm going down to help represent my fire company,
Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder Co
at the 107th annual
CVVFA
convention in Berkeley Springs, W. Virgina. Hopefully, we'll win something like we did at the last function we marched in, the Bicentennial celebration for Easton MD VFD. (in which we won this big ass
trophy
)
Everyone have fun on FPSB impersonating girls and wishing you had tits and vaggies!

Well, I thought it would be fun to throw together a fake trailer for a movie that will never be made, using video from a recent trip to Fort Delaware.
You'll see Necodominus and Yellow Jello in there as the main stars.
Please excuse the terrible aspect ratio. The video itself was made for the aspect ratio found on most high def Tvs.

Wow, could you imagine coming back from shopping or something and seeing that in the back of your trunk.

According to my Thermometer outside (as I post this and am looking at it), it's 98 degrees. I have not been outside yet, and the weather forecast for my area says it feels like 105 due to the humidity. Wtf.
*cranks up the AC
My scanner has been going off like crazy. Nothing but people dropping dead from heat exhaustion.

What a weekend

It was about 11:30AM when I got out of the shower and heard my pager go off for a working house fire at
1045 Greentree Rd
. I go to the fire station and ride
Rescue 8
to the scene. About 10 minute into the scene after our arrival, I was walking by a firefighter who was ventilating a window and he says "There's a cat in here!" I walked over to him and peered in, and there was a cat, its head buried under the covers of a bed that was by a window. I look at the firefighter and tell him "Give me a lift". He lifts me up, and I grab the cat. At first I thought he was alive, but as I walked towards the ambulance, I knew, he wasn't there anymore :(
It may be a cat, but that was someone's pet who loved and cared for it, and it just sucks that it had to die like that.

Well, Yellow Jello tipped me off to this, and I was mortified. FPSB's game sections of Hitman were terrible or non-existent! In a nutshell, we cleaned them up, got them banners and artwork, and now are working on the ubers!
Take a look!

I managed to re-work my profile and get it all nice and fixed up. Unfortunately, my extensive collection of Banana Bars and Video Gallery could not be saved :(
If you're wondering about the Tbar and Uber, I have to really give it all to Yellow Jello, he did a bang up job with them and I really do appreciate it.

Alright. here's a situation.
"Bob intends to put a new, higher grade thermal paste between his CPU and heatsink (for those of you who don't know, it's the sticky stuff that transfers heat between the CPU and heatsink). He takes of the fan and heatsink, cleans off the old thermal compound and applies the new thermal compound.
When he turns on the computer, he notices that the cpu temperature indicator, which is attached to his heatsink, is 10 degrees warmer than normal. Now, is Bob's new thermal compound more efficient at moving heat, or is it causing temperatures to rise?"

What a Night

Alright, so we were doing some standard training at our training center tonight. Standard. What wasn't standard was the driver of a 4 dour Kia flying over a hill in the road at the end of our driveway and smacking into a Ford Expedition.
Wow
What happened next could only be described as awesome and yet amazingly funny. A huge group of firefighters (me included) goes stampeding towards the scene of the accident that's about 400 feet down our driveway. Everyone in their vehicles are out and moving, but we don't know if anyone may be trapped inside or whether or not someone got thrown from the car, but everyone does what comes naturally. We assessed the family in the SUV and find out that the front passenger (a 13 year old male) couldn't remember the airbag deployment, which is somewhat natural. Still, we make sure he's fully alert and comprehending, and we get him on a backboard.
This is where job satisfaction comes in. We've got him on the backboard, but we only have one ambulance and it's left, so I tell the kid he's going to have to wait a little bit, which he was fine about. Overall he was very mature about the accident and didn't seem to be in distress at all. I couldn't say the same for his little sister, she can't bear to look at him done up on the back board, and goes into hysterical fits when she sees him (she's probably about 3 or 4). At this point I remember that we have a stuffed plushie on the Rescue that we saved from a fire (same kind that was on my truck bumper). So I ask our patient if his sister likes stuffed animals, and he says yes. I grab the plushie and present it to the little girl. There is nothing more satisfying than making a little kid who thought the world was over smile and be happy again.
