Skins > Blue & green camoed GSG9
Texture:

The camouflage pattern and colour scheme is actually very appealing.
However the texture is uniform, with no other variations (such as different material or camouflage/pattern).

Originality:

Hardly original.
Unique camouflage maybe, but the rest appears fairly default and generic.

Detail:

The detail on the camouflage design is very good. However, that's all there is, the rest is basically default (Although I must say, I am VERY impressed with the camouflage).

Improvements:

What I've been trying to outline, is that you NEED MORE.
Try using it IN CONJUNCTION with hopefully unique/non-default MODELLING, or at least some sort of VARIATION, such as different camouflage patterns, etc.

Presentation:

No-one looked at this skin for about 4 MONTHS. NOT EVEN A COMMENT.

WHY?

Simply because this submission does not have a decent render.

Most skins that acheive any sort of popularity, have a good render - at least an interesting screenshot as a render that is unusual compared to the actual functional screenshots.

You also, do not have functional screenshots, as the player is too far away (even in the 'render', which often has a close-up).

An interesting/awesome render is essential, it is the only sort of 'advertising' or announcement of your skin, and if it is not EYE-CATCHING, you cannot 'sell' it.

4 months before I came along (and I did not expect anything with a camo' of this quality) no one even commented.

OVERALL?

The default gsg9, reskinned with
A AWESOME CAMOUFLAGE DESIGN.

Good effort, but will probably only appeal to people who want a small change.

Detail:

There is tonnes of detail, all excellent quality - especially the texture.
You've created an awesome, realistic and original player skin!

Texture:

Awesome.
I especially like the texture of the headband, hair (facial too), vest and pants, which all have a huge variation in texture, i.e. roughness.
The camouflage looks awesome too.

However...

Who wears yellow boots nowadays? eww!

Presentation:

The render is very sloppy.
Something of this quality should be presented with a render just as good, that's the first image we see when browsing, so if the render's good, we assume the skin is, visa versa with sloppy renders and amateur skins.

The screenshots are practical, although fairly plain in my opinion, but they get the job done.

Overall?

I sense ample downloading ambience surrounding this skin. Very nice.

Animation?!?!? :o

- Animation looks pretty good, but I'd like to see some actual samurai moves and perhaps two hands on the sword.
- Also couldn't you have the idle position tilted forward a lot more, so it suits the BEAUTIFUL DELUXE world view more and is more functional?



First person view?

- I actually really like the first person view, of the blade and how it is quite functional in the aspect that it doesn't interfere that much .
- However, I think that if you had it taking less of the screen up (vertically) and made so it looks like it is tilted forward and held by both hands, it would be absolutely awesome.

What about the Texture?

- The 'phong'/'reflectivity' actually has my approval *thumbs up*.
- However most the sword is the same texture, and some difference between the guard, blade, and that 'little thingbob' between the blade and guard, would DEFINITELY be appreciated.
- What about actual colour on the handle or something? Looks a bit plain... :( soz

Overall?!?!?!

- Probably the most awesome 'samurai sword' on fpsbanana.
- The submission is well presented (especially concerning the render).
- It has its own special spot in my collection of awesome skins. :D
- However I'd really like to see those changes concerning 'samurai moves and two hands' and 'colour'.

- A monumental effort and respected addition to fpsbanana
(despite my criticism I love this skin and it really IS AWESOME).

Skins > My First Knife Skin
Sorry man but it's too simple.

For what it's worth, it's a good pattern, I like it, but other then that it's just the default knife and doesn't compare too well against what's out there now.

There are many tutorials here at fpsbanana, I recommend mellenias.
He's the king of texture :D

Try some engraving (as redarmysoldier suggested) and new metal textures.

If you really wanna step up, your gonna need really good texture at least, and most expert knives have custom models and anims'.

Good for people who just want a simple change from the default, such as fpsbanana cherubs who are new to the site.

It's a real nice camouflage pattern, but that's basically it, and just the logos slapped on.

It's nice and simple, but needs something more.

Skins > Bank Robber
Model: The model is excellent.

A professional bankrobber, dressed in hitman style attire, and a balaclava.
He even has a watch, not to mention the backpack.

However, there is some weird piece on his back, near the backpack, which you can clearly see in the last screenshot. I also love the suit's buttons.

However you could use some more 'bumpy-mapping' on the backpack'.

Originality: Completely original - i.e. Not for CS:S anyway.

Texture: The texture is pretty good.

The balaclava looks especially detailed concerning texture, the suit and pants look pretty good too.

The balaclava has lines on it, giving the effect that it was made of pieces and stitched together, which is far more realistic.
The gloves also look far better (than default).
Also the backpack might need some more 'stronger' lines to indicate possible zips, or maybe even actual zip texture.

Notes:

An excellent skin overall. A definite keeper.

Skins > Skull Phoenix
Detail: The detail is confusing :S

You see, It's basically valves, however you changed the boots, slapped a biker skull pattern on his head, gave him sleeves and that's about it...

And it looks good! A good simple re-skin, as they go.

Originality: Not that original... Infact it'sd almost identical to an older version...



The only real differences is that the other has blood, your's has different boot colour, different skull pattern, and yours has sleeves.

The fact that i can label them in 1 sentence says something.

Texture: The texture is basically the same, is it completely the same except boot colour, the skull patttern and black sleeve arms?

I can't tell if you've changed the boots (besides colour), because I don't usually have to judge by such a small piece, and don't look at them much...

However what you have changed looks good, and you've said it's a simple reskin.
So ill cut ya' some slack ;)

Notes:

You should learn from the older one's render... your presentation is a bit lacking concerning the render... :( sorry

Also I think it would look more awesome if you just filled in the holes, because then it would just be a skull pattern XD

Good job though, keep at it mate, I'm sure many people will like this, especially 'bananites' or people who just want a slight change.

Detail: Excellent detail, especially concerning the backhand.

Originality: Well it's from stalker, so I don't think this really applies.

Texture: The texture is pretty awesome.

However the sleeve seems like its super glue tight, and it seems to fade just between sleeves and hand, making it appear blurry or something. Doesn't look like a sleeve should, although easily ignorable (BUT YOU KNOW IT'S THERE.... LIKE A SPLINTER IN YOUR MIND...)

Notes/Improvements:

Can't you put some bumpy-mapping or something so that sleeves don't look like their fused with his skin?

Yeah, by the way... Nice shotgun, yoink!

I really have no idea why animation is in the marking key.

I have a lot to blurt out, so I'm just gonna let it loose.

The texture looks a bit low-res'.
Also, the random white cord across the back looks too bright and unrealistic. The random metal clip on the front looks appropriate, but still strangely bright and thus weird. I love the 'jaw part' of the face. Reminds me of a gas mask. The 'blue-ish' effect on the visor/eyes looks weird to me.
The knee pads and shoes (especially) need a lot of work. What is that random thing on his shoulder? What is on the back of his head? The back looks ok, but rather then wrapping around the back of the body, it looks like it was pasted there. I really like the blue 'velvet' look. The half-moons on the thighs look alright too. The chest/vest also looks ok, but low-res'.

To complete the camouflages effect, maybe paint a blue cross or bullseye on his head.

The only way I knew that was a dragon was because of the 'design sheet' or whatever.
It also shows the lack of texture on the vest particularly.

You'd have a serious skin with better texture. But quite lacking in that department.

If you rub anything I've wrongly said in my face and provide evidence, just know I'm prone to re-considering my vote, but this is my genuine vote.

Maybe make it generally more detailed concerning the texture, and refine the random logos or whatever (dragon, etc).

Also, I might add that the presentation needs some work, concerning the lazy render.

I actually think it's a great idea, and I've seen a lot of 'bike gear' that reminds me of this or visa versa.

However, in the author's notes, you say that it REPLACES ALL C.T. MODELS WITH URBAN MODELS , Why?

Couldn't you just give all the urban, sas, ct skins individually so we don't have to re-apply all the skins?
